Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he (A)held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him (B)who lives forever, (C)that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; (D)and when the power of (E)the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished.

And he was given (A)a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to [a]continue for (B)forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, (C)His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him (D)to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And (E)authority was given him over every [b]tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, (F)whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain (G)from the foundation of the world.

(H)If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 (I)He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; (J)he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. (K)Here is the [c]patience and the faith of the saints.

The Beast from the Earth

11 Then I saw another beast (L)coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, (M)whose deadly wound was healed. 13 (N)He performs great signs, (O)so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 (P)And he deceives [d]those who dwell on the earth (Q)by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword (R)and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak (S)and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, (T)to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has [e]the mark or (U)the name of the beast, (V)or the number of his name.

18 (W)Here is wisdom. Let him who has (X)understanding calculate (Y)the number of the beast, (Z)for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.

The Witnesses Killed

When they (A)finish their testimony, (B)the beast that ascends (C)out of the bottomless pit (D)will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of (E)the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, (F)where also [a]our Lord was crucified. (G)Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations [b]will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, (H)and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves.
