⁵ Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

¹³ Nor can they prove the things of which they now accuse me. ¹⁴ But this I confess to you, that according to ^(A)the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the ^(B)God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in ^(C)the Law and in the Prophets. ^15 (D)I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, ^(E)that there will be a resurrection ^[a]of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. ^16 (F)This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

²⁰ Or else let those who are here themselves say ^[a]if they found any wrongdoing in me while I stood before the council, ²¹ unless it is for this one statement which I cried out, standing among them, ^(A)‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you this day.’ ”

⁸ Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; ^(A)their laws are different from all other people’s, and they do not keep the king’s laws. Therefore it is not fitting for the king to let them remain.

^17 (A)Then he said to David: “You are ^(B)more righteous than I; for ^(C)you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil.

^6 (A)Therefore, when the chief priests and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”

Pilate said to them, “You take Him and crucify Him, for I find no fault in Him.”

⁷ The Jews answered him, ^(B)“We have a law, and according to ^[a]our law He ought to die, because ^(C)He made Himself the Son of God.”
