^11 (A)There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your ^[a]father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your ^[b]father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.

⁴⁷ The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly ^(A)your God is the God of ^(B)gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.” ^48 (C)Then the king promoted Daniel ^(D)and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and ^(E)chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon.

^11 (A)we each had a dream in one night, he and I. Each of us dreamed according to the interpretation of his own dream. ¹² Now there was a young ^(B)Hebrew man with us there, a ^(C)servant of the captain of the guard. And we told him, and he ^(D)interpreted our dreams for us; to each man he interpreted according to his own dream. ¹³ And it came to pass, just ^(E)as he interpreted for us, so it happened. He restored me to my office, and he hanged him.”

^14 (F)Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they ^(G)brought him quickly ^(H)out of the dungeon; and he shaved, ^(I)changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh. ¹⁵ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. ^(J)But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it.”

⁹ Indeed I will make ^(A)those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed ^(B)I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

Paul and Silas Imprisoned

¹⁶ Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl ^(A)possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters ^(B)much profit by fortune-telling.

¹¹ Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, ^(A)“The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!”

²² And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!”
