²⁹ At the end of twelve months he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon,

²¹ I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.^[a](A)

¹⁵ and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,^(A)

⁹ The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you,^[a] not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.^{(A) 10} But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be destroyed with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed.^[b](B)

²⁰ who in former times did not obey, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight lives, were saved through water.^(A)

¹¹ Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the human heart is fully set to do evil.

³ Then the Lord said, “My spirit shall not abide^[a] in mortals forever, for they are flesh; their days shall be one hundred twenty years.”^(A)
