²⁶ As it was commanded to leave the stump and roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be reestablished for you from the time that you learn that Heaven is sovereign.^(A)

²¹ Then the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’^[a](A)

¹⁸ I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you;

²⁰ When the disciples saw it, they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?”

³⁴ But I say to you: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,^(A)

²³ And whereas the king saw a holy watcher coming down from heaven and saying, ‘Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump and roots in the ground, with a band of iron and bronze, in the grass of the field, and let him be bathed with the dew of heaven, and let his lot be with the animals of the field, until seven times pass over him’^(A)—

³⁷ You, O king, the king of kings—to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, the might, and the glory,^(A)
