⁷ So at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the horn, flute, harp, and lyre, in symphony with all kinds of music, all the people, nations, and languages fell down and worshiped the gold image which King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

^20 (A)Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and ^(B)those who worshiped his image. ^(C)These two were cast alive into the lake of fire ^(D)burning with brimstone.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not, and ^(A)will ascend out of the bottomless pit and ^(B)go to ^[a]perdition. And those who ^(C)dwell on the earth ^(D)will marvel, ^(E)whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and ^[b]yet is.

^14 (A)And he deceives ^[a]those who dwell on the earth ^(B)by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword ^(C)and lived.

⁸ All who dwell on the earth will worship him, ^(A)whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain ^(B)from the foundation of the world.

³ And I saw one of his heads ^(A)as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And ^(B)all the world marveled and followed the beast.

⁹ So ^(A)the great dragon was cast out, ^(B)that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, ^(C)who deceives the whole world; ^(D)he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and ^(A)the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

^16 (A)who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.
