^18 (A)that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

¹⁵ Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is ^(A)My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’

²⁹ As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; ^(A)and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be. ^30 (B)But as for me, this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the king, ^(C)and that you may ^[a]know the thoughts of your heart.

Jesus Rejoices in the Spirit^(A)

^21 (B)In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

Jesus Gives True Rest^(A)

^25 (B)At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that ^(C)You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent ^(D)and have revealed them to babes.

²⁰ Daniel answered and said:

¹⁷ As for these four young men, ^(A)God gave them ^(B)knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had ^(C)understanding in all visions and dreams.
