⁴⁴ But news from the east and the north shall alarm him, and he shall go out with great fury to destroy and devote many to destruction.

¹⁹ And I saw ^(A)the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies ^(B)gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. ²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(C)the false prophet ^(D)who in its presence^[a] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(E)worshiped its image. These two were ^(F)thrown alive into the lake of ^(G)fire that burns with sulfur. ²¹ And the rest were slain by the sword ^(H)that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and ^(I)all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

¹³ These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast.

¹² The sixth angel poured out his bowl on ^(A)the great river Euphrates, and ^(B)its water was dried up, ^(C)to prepare the way for the kings ^(D)from the east.

³⁰ For ships of ^(A)Kittim shall come against him, and he shall be afraid and withdraw, and shall turn back and ^(B)be enraged and ^(C)take action against the holy covenant. He shall turn back and pay attention to those who forsake the holy covenant.

¹¹ Then the king of the south, ^(A)moved with rage, shall come out and fight against the king of the north. ^(B)And he shall raise a great multitude, but it shall be given into his hand.

⁹ You will advance, coming on ^(A)like a storm. You will be ^(B)like a cloud covering the land, you and all your ^(C)hordes, and many peoples with you.

¹⁰ “Thus says the Lord God: On that day, ^(D)thoughts will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil scheme ¹¹ and say, ‘I will go up against ^(E)the land of unwalled villages. I will fall upon ^(F)the quiet people who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having no bars or gates,’ ¹² to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against ^(G)the waste places that are now inhabited, and ^(H)the people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, ^(I)who dwell at the center of the earth.
