⁶ His body was like beryl, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and the sound of his words like the roar of a multitude.^(A)

¹² His eyes are like^[a] a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name inscribed that no one knows but himself.^(A)

² And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became bright as light.

³ he gave a great shout, like a lion roaring. And when he shouted, the seven thunders sounded.^{(A) 4} And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.”^(B)

¹³ and in the midst of the lampstands I saw one like the Son of Man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash across his chest.^{(A) 14} His head and his hair were white as white wool, white as snow; his eyes were like a flame of fire;^{(B) 15} his feet were like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters.^{(C) 16} In his right hand he held seven stars, and from his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining with full force.^(D)

¹⁷ When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he placed his right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last^(E)

⁹ I looked, and there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one beside each cherub, and the appearance of the wheels was like gleaming beryl.^(A)

²⁴ When they moved, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of mighty waters, like the thunder of the Almighty,^[a] a sound of tumult like the sound of an army; when they stopped, they let down their wings.^(A)

¹⁶ As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of beryl, and the four had the same form, their construction being something like a wheel within a wheel.^(A)

¹⁴ The living creatures darted to and fro, like a flash of lightning.^(A)
