¹⁶ And suddenly, ^(A)one having the likeness of the ^[a]sons of men ^(B)touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me, “My lord, because of the vision ^(C)my sorrows have ^[b]overwhelmed me, and I have retained no strength.

Gabriel Interprets the Vision

¹⁵ Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and ^(A)was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me ^(B)one having the appearance of a man.

⁷ And he ^(A)touched my mouth with it, and said:

⁹ Then the Lord put forth His hand and ^(A)touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me:

^27 (A)And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I arose and went about the king’s business. I was ^[a]astonished by the vision, but no one understood it.

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and ^(A)fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.”

²⁸ “This is the end of the ^[a]account. As for me, Daniel, ^(A)my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I ^(B)kept the matter in my heart.”

Daniel’s Visions Interpreted

¹⁵ “I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit ^[a]within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

^13 (A)and in the midst of the seven lampstands ^(B)One like the Son of Man, ^(C)clothed with a garment down to the feet and ^(D)girded about the chest with a golden band.
