^13 (A)The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me ^(B)twenty-one days, but ^(C)Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia,

⁹ But when ^(A)the archangel ^(B)Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing ^(C)about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, ^(D)“The Lord rebuke you.”

The Time of the End

12 “At that time shall arise ^(A)Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And ^(B)there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, ^(C)everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.

Satan Thrown Down to Earth

⁷ Now war arose in heaven, ^(A)Michael and ^(B)his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back,

²⁰ Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? But now I will return to fight against the ^(A)prince of Persia; and when I go out, behold, the prince of ^(B)Greece will come. ²¹ But I will tell you ^(C)what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except ^(D)Michael, your prince.

²² who has gone into heaven and ^(A)is at the right hand of God, ^(B)with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

¹⁰ and ^(A)you have been filled in him, who is ^(B)the head of all rule and authority.

¹² For ^(A)we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against ^(B)the rulers, against the authorities, against ^(C)the cosmic powers over ^(D)this present darkness, against ^(E)the spiritual forces of evil ^(F)in the heavenly places.

¹⁸ because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan ^(A)hindered us.
