²⁰ When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”^(A)

¹⁷ If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver^(A) us from it, and he will deliver^(B) us^[a] from Your Majesty’s hand.

¹⁶ At my first defense, no one came to my support, but everyone deserted me. May it not be held against them.^{(A) 17} But the Lord stood at my side^(B) and gave me strength,^(C) so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it.^(D) And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.^{(E) 18} The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack^(F) and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom.^(G) To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.^(H)

²⁵ Therefore he is able to save^(A) completely^[a] those who come to God^(B) through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.^(C)
