Luật Về Phụ Nữ Ðang Hưởng Sản Nghiệp và Ði Lấy Chồng
36 Lúc đó các vị trưởng tộc các dòng họ của con cháu Ghi-lê-át con trai Ma-khia, cháu Ma-na-se, dòng dõi Giô-sép, đến đứng trước mặt Môi-se và các vị lãnh đạo, tức những thủ lãnh các chi tộc I-sơ-ra-ên và nói với các vị ấy. 2 Họ nói rằng, “Chúa đã truyền cho ngài bắt thăm chia đất để làm sản nghiệp cho dân I-sơ-ra-ên; Chúa cũng đã truyền cho ngài phải chia phần sản nghiệp của anh em chúng tôi là Xê-lô-phê-hát cho các con gái của ông ấy. 3 Nhưng nếu các cô ấy lập gia đình với người ngoài chi tộc chúng tôi, thì một phần sản nghiệp của tổ tiên chúng tôi sẽ bị lấy đi mà đem nhập vào sản nghiệp của chi tộc các chồng các cô ấy; như vậy sản nghiệp đã được trúng thăm cho tổ tiên chúng tôi sẽ bị mất đi một phần. 4 Rồi năm hoan hỉ của dân I-sơ-ra-ên đến, bấy giờ phần sản nghiệp của họ sẽ vĩnh viễn được sáp nhập vào sản nghiệp của chi tộc chồng họ; như thế sản nghiệp của tổ tiên chúng tôi sẽ bị mất đi phần sản nghiệp của mình.”
5 Theo lệnh của Chúa, Môi-se truyền cho dân I-sơ-ra-ên rằng, “Các con cháu của Giô-sép nói rất đúng. 6 Ðây là những gì Chúa đã truyền về các con gái của Xê-lô-phê-hát, ‘Các cô ấy muốn lập gia đình với ai cũng được, miễn là với những người trong chi tộc của họ, 7 để không một phần sản nghiệp nào của dân I-sơ-ra-ên sẽ bị chuyển từ chi tộc nầy qua chi tộc khác, vì toàn dân I-sơ-ra-ên sẽ phải bảo toàn phần sản nghiệp của chi tộc mình.
8 Hễ người con gái nào được hưởng sản nghiệp trong các chi tộc I-sơ-ra-ên, người con gái đó phải lập gia đình với một người trong chi tộc của tổ tiên mình, để toàn dân I-sơ-ra-ên có thể tiếp tục làm chủ sản nghiệp do tổ tiên để lại. 9 Không một phần sản nghiệp nào được chuyển từ chi tộc nầy qua chi tộc khác, vì mỗi chi tộc I-sơ-ra-ên đều phải bảo toàn phần sản nghiệp của mình.’”
10 Các con gái của Xê-lô-phê-hát làm y như Chúa đã truyền cho Môi-se. 11 Mác-la, Nô-a, Hốc-la, Minh-ca, và Tiệc-xa, các con gái của Xê-lô-phê-hát, lập gia đình với các con trai của chú bác mình. 12 Họ lập gia đình với các con cháu trong dòng họ Ma-na-se con Giô-sép, và sản nghiệp của họ vẫn được giữ trong chi tộc của cha ông họ.
13 Ðó là những điều răn và luật lệ Chúa đã truyền qua Môi-se cho dân I-sơ-ra-ên, trong Ðồng Bằng Mô-áp, bên bờ Sông Giô-đanh, đối ngang Giê-ri-cô.

Ley del casamiento de las herederas
36 Los príncipes de las familias patriarcales de Galaad hijo de Maquir, hijo de Manasés, es decir, de las familias de los hijos de José, fueron y hablaron delante de Moisés y de los príncipes de las familias patriarcales de los hijos de Israel. 2 Dijeron:
«El Señor dio instrucciones a nuestro señor Moisés, de dar a los hijos de Israel posesión de la tierra mediante sorteo. También, el Señor ha dado instrucciones a nuestro señor Moisés, de entregar la propiedad de nuestro hermano Selofejad a sus hijas.(A) 3 Pero si ellas se casan con hombres de las otras tribus israelitas, su propiedad familiar saldrá de la parte que nos corresponde y será añadida a la propiedad familiar de la tribu a la que ellas se unan. Así, se nos quitará la herencia de nuestros padres 4 y, cuando llegue el jubileo de los hijos de Israel, la propiedad familiar de ellas será añadida a la propiedad familiar de la tribu de sus maridos. Entonces lo que ahora es de ellas dejará de ser parte de la herencia de la tribu de nuestros padres.»
5 Entonces Moisés habló con los hijos de Israel, y por mandato del Señor les dijo:
«Los de la tribu de José tienen razón. 6 Acerca de las hijas de Selofejad, esto es lo que el Señor ha ordenado: Pueden casarse como a ellas les parezca mejor, siempre y cuando se casen con alguien de la tribu de su padre, 7 para que la propiedad familiar de los hijos de Israel no pase de una tribu a otra, pues todo israelita estará vinculado a la propiedad familiar de la tribu de sus padres. 8 Toda mujer que tenga propiedad familiar entre las tribus de los hijos de Israel, deberá casarse con alguien que pertenezca a la tribu de su padre, para que los hijos de Israel tengan cada uno la propiedad familiar de sus padres, 9 y no ande su propiedad rodando de una tribu a otra, sino que cada una de las tribus de los hijos de Israel estará vinculada a su propiedad familiar.»
10 Las hijas de Selofejad acataron lo que el Señor le ordenó a Moisés, 11 y Malá, Tirsa, Joglá, Milca y Nogá, hijas de Selofejad, se casaron con hijos de sus tíos paternos. 12 Se casaron dentro de la familia de los hijos de Manasés hijo de José, y su propiedad familiar se quedó dentro de la tribu de la familia de su padre.
13 Éstos son los mandamientos y los estatutos que el Señor dio a los hijos de Israel por medio de Moisés. Se los dio en los campos de Moab, junto al Jordán, frente a Jericó.

36 And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel:
2 And they said, The Lord commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.
3 And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
4 And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the Lord, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well.
6 This is the thing which the Lord doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
7 So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
9 Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance.
10 Even as the Lord commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad:
11 For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their fathers brothers' sons:
12 And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
13 These are the commandments and the judgments, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
