Nhiệm vụ của các thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi
18 CHÚA bảo A-rôn, “Con, con trai con, và gia đình con bây giờ chịu trách nhiệm về những tội lỗi liên quan đến Nơi Thánh; con và các con trai con cũng chịu trách nhiệm về những tội lỗi liên quan đến các thầy tế lễ. 2 Hãy mang đến cùng con những người Lê-vi khác, thuộc chi tộc con, để giúp con và các con trai con phục vụ trước Lều Giao Ước. 3 Họ ở dưới quyền con để làm tất cả các công tác cần làm trong Lều. Nhưng họ không được đến gần những vật trong Nơi Thánh hay gần bàn thờ. Nếu không cả con lẫn họ đều sẽ chết. 4 Họ sẽ hợp sức với con lo cho Lều Họp. Họ phải làm công tác của Lều, không ai khác được đến gần con.
5 Con phải lo cho Nơi Thánh và bàn thờ để ta không nổi giận cùng dân Ít-ra-en nữa. 6 Chính ta dã lựa chọn những anh em Lê-vi của các con từ giữa dân Ít-ra-en làm lễ vật mà các con dâng lên cho CHÚA để phục vụ trong Lều Họp. 7 Nhưng chỉ có con và các con trai con được giữ chức tế lễ. Chỉ có một mình con có thể phục vụ nơi bàn thờ hay đến phía sau bức màn. Ta ban cho con đặc ân nầy để thi hành chức tế lễ. Ai khác đến gần Nơi Thánh sẽ bị xử tử.”
8 Rồi CHÚA bảo A-rôn, “Chính ta trao trách nhiệm cho con về các của lễ dâng lên cho ta. Tất cả các của lễ thánh mà người Ít-ra-en dâng lên cho ta, ta ban cho con và các con trai con, xem như là phần của con vĩnh viễn từ nay về sau. 9 Phần của các con trong các của lễ thánh là phần không thiêu. Khi dân chúng mang lễ vật đến cho ta để làm của lễ chí thánh, bất kỳ là của lễ chay, của lễ chuộc tội hay của lễ đền bù, phần của con sẽ được để riêng ra cho con và các con trai con. 10 Các con phải ăn lễ vật ở một nơi thật thánh. Bất cứ đàn ông nào cũng được phép ăn nhưng các con phải xem những lễ vật đó như đồ thánh.
11 Ta cũng cho con các của lễ người Ít-ra-en dâng cho ta. Ta cho con, cho con trai con gái con các của lễ đó để làm phần vĩnh viễn của con. Ai trong gia đình con không bị ô dơ đều được phép ăn phần đó.
12 Ngoài ra ta cũng ban cho con dầu ô-liu tốt nhất cùng rượu nho mới thượng hạng và ngũ cốc. Đó là phần dân Ít-ra-en dâng cho ta, CHÚA, từ quả trái đầu tiên trong những hoa màu họ. 13 Khi họ mang đến cho CHÚA các hoa quả đầu mùa, thì những món đó thuộc về con. Ai trong gia đình con không bị ô dơ đều được phép ăn các món ấy.
14 Những gì người Ít-ra-en dâng cho CHÚA là của con.
15 Những con đầu lòng sinh ra, dù là người hay súc vật phải được dâng lên cho CHÚA. Các con đó sẽ thuộc về con. Nhưng con phải chuộc mọi con đầu lòng của người và các súc vật không sạch. 16 Khi các con đầu lòng được một tháng, con phải chuộc chúng bằng hai lượng bạc, tính theo cân Nơi Thánh.
17 Nhưng con không được chuộc con đầu lòng của bò, chiên, hay dê. Các con vật đó được coi là vật thánh. Hãy rưới huyết chúng trên bàn thờ và thiêu mỡ chúng dùng làm của lễ bằng lửa. Mùi thơm từ của lễ sẽ làm vừa lòng CHÚA. 18 Còn thịt của các con vật đó sẽ thuộc về con cũng như cái ức và cái đùi phải, đã được dâng lên, đều là của con. 19 Những gì người Ít-ra-en dâng lên như của lễ thánh thì ta, CHÚA, ban cho con, con trai, con gái con làm phần của các con vĩnh viễn. Đây là giao ước đời đời bằng muối lập trước mặt CHÚA cho con và con cái con.”
20 CHÚA cũng phán cùng A-rôn, “Con sẽ không thừa hưởng đất đai nào, cũng không làm chủ đất nào giữa vòng các người khác. Ta là tài sản của con trong vòng dân Ít-ra-en.
21 Khi dân Ít-ra-en dâng cho ta một phần mười về những gì họ làm ra, thì ta sẽ ban cho người Lê-vi phần mười đó xem như tiền công của họ trong việc phục vụ Lều Họp. 22 Nhưng các người Ít-ra-en khác không được đến gần Lều Họp, nếu không họ sẽ chết vì tội mình. 23 Chỉ có những người Lê-vi được phục vụ công tác trong Lều Họp và chịu trách nhiệm về những tội phạm liên quan đến Lều. Người Lê-vi sẽ không được hưởng đất đai nào trong vòng những người Ít-ra-en khác. 24 Nhưng khi người Ít-ra-en lấy một phần mười những gì họ làm ra [a] mà dâng cho ta thì người Lê-vi được hưởng phần ấy. Vì thế mà ta nói về người Lê-vi như sau: ‘Họ sẽ không được hưởng đất đai nào giữa vòng người Ít-ra-en.’”
25 CHÚA bảo Mô-se, 26 “Hãy nói cùng người Lê-vi như sau: Các con sẽ nhận được một phần mười về tất cả những gì dân Ít-ra-en làm ra, ta sẽ ban cho các con. Nhưng các con phải dâng lại một phần mười từ các của đó cho CHÚA. 27 Ta sẽ nhận lễ vật các con như ta nhận lễ vật từ những người khác là những người dâng ngũ cốc mới hay rượu mới. 28 Như thế các con cũng sẽ dâng của lễ cho CHÚA như những người Ít-ra-en khác. Khi các con nhận một phần mười từ dân Ít-ra-en thì các con dâng lại một phần mười những lễ vật đó cho A-rôn, thầy tế lễ, để làm phần của CHÚA. 29 Hãy chọn phần tốt nhất và thánh nhất từ những lễ vật để làm phần dâng cho CHÚA.”
30 Hãy nói với người Lê-vi: “Khi các con dâng lễ vật tốt nhất thì sẽ được nhận cũng như ta nhận ngũ cốc và rượu từ những người khác. 31 Các con và gia đình có thể ăn những đồ còn lại ở bất cứ đâu, vì đó là công của các con phục vụ trong Lều Họp. 32 Khi các con dâng lễ vật tốt nhất cho CHÚA, các con sẽ không mắc tội. Nhưng nếu các con xem các lễ vật thánh của người Ít-ra-en như những vật tầm thường khác, các con sẽ chết.”

Duties of Priests and Levites
18 So the Lord said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father's house with you shall (A)bear iniquity connected with the sanctuary, (B)and you and your sons with you shall bear iniquity connected with your priesthood. 2 And with you bring your brothers also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may (C)join you and (D)minister to you while you and your sons with you are before the tent of the testimony. 3 They shall keep guard over you and (E)over the whole tent, (F)but shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary or to the altar (G)lest they, and you, die. 4 They shall join you and keep guard over the tent of meeting for all the service of the tent, (H)and no outsider shall come near you. 5 And you shall (I)keep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, (J)that there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel. 6 (K)And behold, I have taken your brothers the Levites from among the people of Israel. (L)They are a gift to you, given to the Lord, to do the service of the tent of meeting. 7 And (M)you and your sons with you shall guard your priesthood for all that concerns the altar and (N)that is within the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood as a gift,[a] and (O)any outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”
8 Then the Lord spoke to Aaron, “Behold, (P)I have given you charge of the contributions made to me, all the consecrated things of the people of Israel. I have given them to you (Q)as a portion and to your sons as a perpetual due. 9 This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every offering of theirs, every grain offering of theirs and every (R)sin offering of theirs and every (S)guilt offering of theirs, which they render to me, shall be most holy to you and to your sons. 10 In a most holy place shall you eat it. Every male may eat it; it is holy to you. 11 This also is yours: the contribution of their gift, all the (T)wave offerings of the people of Israel. I have given them to (U)you, and to your sons and daughters with you, as a perpetual due. (V)Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it. 12 (W)All the best of the oil and all the best of the wine and of the grain, (X)the firstfruits of what they give to the Lord, I give to you. 13 The first ripe fruits of all that is in their land, (Y)which they bring to the Lord, shall be yours. (Z)Everyone who is clean in your house may eat it. 14 (AA)Every devoted thing in Israel shall be yours. 15 (AB)Everything that opens the womb of all flesh, whether man or beast, which they offer to the Lord, shall be yours. Nevertheless, (AC)the firstborn of man you shall redeem, and the firstborn of unclean animals you shall redeem. 16 And their redemption price (AD)(at a month old you shall redeem them) you shall fix at five shekels[b] in silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, (AE)which is twenty gerahs. 17 (AF)But the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat, you shall not redeem; they are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar and shall burn their fat as a food offering, with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 18 But their flesh shall be yours, as (AG)the breast that is waved and as the right thigh are yours. 19 (AH)All the holy contributions that the people of Israel present to the Lord I give to you, and to your sons and daughters with you, as a perpetual due. (AI)It is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord for you and for your offspring with you.” 20 And the Lord said to Aaron, “You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. (AJ)I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.
21 (AK)“To the Levites I have given every tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service that they do, their service in the tent of meeting, 22 (AL)so that the people of Israel do not come near the tent of meeting, (AM)lest they bear sin and die. 23 But (AN)the Levites shall do the service of the tent of meeting, (AO)and they shall bear their iniquity. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, and among the people of Israel they shall have no inheritance. 24 For the tithe of the people of Israel, which (AP)they present as a contribution to the Lord, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance. Therefore I have said of them that they shall have no inheritance (AQ)among the people of Israel.”
25 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 26 “Moreover, you shall speak and say to the Levites, ‘When you take from the people of Israel the tithe that I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall present a contribution from it to the Lord, (AR)a tithe of the tithe. 27 (AS)And your contribution shall be counted to you as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress. 28 So you shall also present a contribution to the Lord from all your tithes, which you receive from the people of Israel. And from it you shall give the Lord's contribution to Aaron the priest. 29 Out of all the gifts to you, you shall present every contribution due to the Lord; from each its best part is to be dedicated.’ 30 Therefore you shall say to them, ‘When you have offered from it the best of it, (AT)then the rest shall be counted to the Levites as produce of the threshing floor, and as produce of the winepress. 31 And you may eat it in any place, you and your households, for it is (AU)your reward in return for your service in the tent of meeting. 32 And you shall (AV)bear no sin by reason of it, when you have contributed the best of it. But you shall not (AW)profane the holy things of the people of Israel, lest you die.’”

18 And the Lord said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
2 And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of witness.
3 And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
4 And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
5 And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.
6 And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you they are given as a gift for the Lord, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
7 Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for everything of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
8 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.
9 This shall be thine of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every oblation of their's, every meat offering of their's, and every sin offering of their's, and every trespass offering of their's which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.
10 In the most holy place shalt thou eat it; every male shall eat it: it shall be holy unto thee.
11 And this is thine; the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the children of Israel: I have given them unto thee, and to thy sons and to thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: every one that is clean in thy house shall eat of it.
12 All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of them which they shall offer unto the Lord, them have I given thee.
13 And whatsoever is first ripe in the land, which they shall bring unto the Lord, shall be thine; every one that is clean in thine house shall eat of it.
14 Every thing devoted in Israel shall be thine.
15 Every thing that openeth the matrix in all flesh, which they bring unto the Lord, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be thine: nevertheless the firstborn of man shalt thou surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts shalt thou redeem.
16 And those that are to be redeemed from a month old shalt thou redeem, according to thine estimation, for the money of five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.
17 But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the Lord.
18 And the flesh of them shall be thine, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are thine.
19 All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the Lord, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the Lord unto thee and to thy seed with thee.
20 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, Thou shalt have no inheritance in their land, neither shalt thou have any part among them: I am thy part and thine inheritance among the children of Israel.
21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
22 Neither must the children of Israel henceforth come nigh the tabernacle of the congregation, lest they bear sin, and die.
23 But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
24 But the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer as an heave offering unto the Lord, I have given to the Levites to inherit: therefore I have said unto them, Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.
25 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the Lord, even a tenth part of the tithe.
27 And this your heave offering shall be reckoned unto you, as though it were the corn of the threshingfloor, and as the fulness of the winepress.
28 Thus ye also shall offer an heave offering unto the Lord of all your tithes, which ye receive of the children of Israel; and ye shall give thereof the Lord'S heave offering to Aaron the priest.
29 Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the Lord, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
30 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
31 And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
32 And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best of it: neither shall ye pollute the holy things of the children of Israel, lest ye die.
