Colossians 3:5-11

New International Version

⁵Put to death,^(A) therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:^(B) sexual immorality,^(C) impurity, lust, evil desires and greed,^(D) which is idolatry.^(E) ⁶Because of these, the wrath of God^(F) is coming.^[a] ⁷You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.^(G) ⁸But now you must also rid yourselves^(H) of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander,^(I) and filthy language from your lips.^(J) ⁹Do not lie to each other,^(K) since you have taken off your old self^(L) with its practices ¹⁰and have put on the new self,^(M) which is being renewed^(N) in knowledge in the image of its Creator.^(O) ¹¹Here there is no Gentile or Jew,^(P) circumcised or uncircumcised,^(Q) barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,^(R) but Christ is all,^(S) and is in all.

⁵So put to death your worldly impulses:^[a] sexual sin, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry). ⁶It is because of these things that the wrath of God is coming on those who are disobedient.^[b] ⁷You used to behave like them as you lived among them. ⁸But now you must also get rid of anger, wrath, malice, slander, obscene speech, and all such sins. ⁹Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old nature with its practices ¹⁰and have clothed yourselves with the new nature, which is being renewed in full knowledge, consistent with the image of the one who created it. ¹¹In him^[c] there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian,^[d] slave, or free person. Instead, the Messiah^[e] is all and in all.
