Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity,(A) lust,(B) evil desire, and greed,(C) which is idolatry.(D) Because of these, God’s wrath(E) is coming upon the disobedient,[a] and you once walked in these things when you were living(F) in them. But now, put away(G) all the following: anger,(H) wrath,(I) malice,(J) slander,(K) and filthy language from your mouth.(L) Do not lie(M) to one another, since you have put off(N) the old self(O) with its practices 10 and have put on(P) the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your[b] Creator.(Q) 11 In Christ there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.(R)

So put to death your worldly impulses:[a] sexual sin, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry). It is because of these things that the wrath of God is coming on those who are disobedient.[b] You used to behave like them as you lived among them. But now you must also get rid of anger, wrath, malice, slander, obscene speech, and all such sins. Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old nature with its practices 10 and have clothed yourselves with the new nature, which is being renewed in full knowledge, consistent with the image of the one who created it. 11 In him[c] there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian,[d] slave, or free person. Instead, the Messiah[e] is all and in all.
