¹³ When you were dead in your sins^(A) and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you^[a] alive^(B) with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,^(C)

¹⁰ And by that will, we have been made holy^(A) through the sacrifice of the body^(B) of Jesus Christ once for all.^(C)

¹¹ Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices,^(D) which can never take away sins.^{(E) 12} But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins,^(F) he sat down at the right hand of God,^{(G) 13} and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.^{(H) 14} For by one sacrifice he has made perfect^(I) forever those who are being made holy.^(J)

¹⁵ The Holy Spirit also testifies^(K) to us about this. First he says:

¹⁷ Then he adds:

¹⁸ And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

A Call to Persevere in Faith

¹⁹ Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence^(N) to enter the Most Holy Place^(O) by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way^(P) opened for us through the curtain,^(Q) that is, his body,

⁶ David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

⁹ Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised?^(B) We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness.^(C)
