Colossians 1:18-20

Good News Translation

¹⁸^(A)He is the head of his body, the church; he is the source of the body's life. He is the first-born Son, who was raised from death, in order that he alone might have the first place in all things. ¹⁹For it was by God's own decision that the Son has in himself the full nature of God. ²⁰^(B)Through the Son, then, God decided to bring the whole universe back to himself. God made peace through his Son's blood^[a] on the cross and so brought back to himself all things, both on earth and in heaven.

¹⁸And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

¹⁹For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

²⁰And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
