The Supremacy of Christ

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; ¹⁶ for in^[a] him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him.

⁹ For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,

¹⁶ Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:

³ He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being, and he sustains^[a] all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

¹⁴ Since, therefore, the children share flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested^[a] as we are, yet without sin.
