Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

(A)Put to death therefore (B)what is earthly in you:[a] (C)sexual immorality, impurity, (D)passion, evil desire, and covetousness, (E)which is idolatry. (F)On account of these the wrath of God is coming.[b] (G)In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. Therefore, put to death what belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity,(A) lust,(B) evil desire, and greed,(C) which is idolatry.(D) Because of these, God’s wrath(E) is coming upon the disobedient,[a] and you once walked in these things when you were living(F) in them. (A)Therefore [a]consider (B)the members of your earthly body as dead to [b](C)immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which [c]amounts to idolatry. For it is because of these things that (D)the wrath of God will come [d]upon the sons of disobedience, and (E)in them you also once walked, when you were living [e]in them. But now you also, (F)put them all aside: (G)anger, wrath, malice, slander, and (H)abusive speech from your mouth. [f](I)Do not lie to one another, since you (J)laid aside the old [g]self with its evil practices, 10 and have (K)put on the new self who is being [h](L)renewed to a true knowledge (M)according to the image of the One who (N)created him— 11 a renewal in which (O)there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, (P)circumcised and uncircumcised, [i](Q)barbarian, Scythian, (R)slave and freeman, but (S)Christ is all, and in all.

12 So, as those who have been (T)chosen of God, holy and beloved, (U)put on a (V)heart of compassion, kindness, (W)humility, gentleness and [j](X)patience; 13 (Y)bearing with one another, and (Z)forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; (AA)just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is [k](AB)the perfect bond of (AC)unity.
