Colossians 3:22-4:18

22 (A)Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters [a]on earth, (B)not with [b]external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, do your work [c]heartily, (C)as for the Lord [d]rather than for men, 24 (D)knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward [e]of (E)the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you (F)serve. 25 For (G)he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and [f](H)that without partiality.

Fellow Workers

4 Masters, grant to your slaves justice and fairness, (I)knowing that you too have a Master in heaven.

2 (J)Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; 3 praying at the same time (K)for us as well, that God will open up to us a (L)door for (M)the word, so that we may speak forth (N)the mystery of Christ, for which I have also (O)been imprisoned; 4 that I may make it clear (P)in the way I ought to speak.

5 [g](Q)Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward (R)outsiders, [h](S)making the most of the opportunity. 6 (T)Let your speech always be [i]with grace, as though seasoned with (U)salt, so that you will know how you should (V)respond to each person.

7 (W)As to all my affairs, (X)Tychicus, our (Y)beloved brother and faithful servant and fellow bond-servant in the Lord, will bring you information. 8 (Z)For I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know about our circumstances and that he may (AA)encourage your hearts; 9 [j]and with him (AB)Onesimus, our faithful and (AC)beloved brother, (AD)who is one of your number. They will inform you about the whole situation here.

10 (AE)Aristarchus, my (AF)fellow prisoner, sends you his greetings; and also (AG)Barnabas’s cousin Mark (about whom you received [k]instructions; (AH)if he comes to you, welcome him); 11 and also Jesus who is called Justus; these are the only (AI)fellow workers for the kingdom of God (AJ)who are from the circumcision, and they have proved to be an encouragement to me. 12 (AK)Epaphras, (AL)who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends you his greetings, always (AM)laboring earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may [l]stand [m](AN)perfect and [n]fully assured in all the will of God. 13 For I testify for him that he has [o]a deep concern for you and for those who are in (AO)Laodicea and Hierapolis. 14 (AP)Luke, the beloved physician, sends you his greetings, and also (AQ)Demas. 15 Greet the brethren who are in (AR)Laodicea and also [p]Nympha and (AS)the church that is in [q]her house. 16 (AT)When [r]this letter is read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and you, for your part (AU)read [s]my letter that is coming from (AV)Laodicea. 17 Say to (AW)Archippus, “Take heed to the (AX)ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may [t]fulfill it.”

18 [u]I, Paul, (AY)write this greeting with my own hand. (AZ)Remember my [v](BA)imprisonment. (BB)Grace be with you.

Colossians 3:22-4:18
New International Version

22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance(A) from the Lord as a reward.(B) It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.(C)

4 Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair,(D) because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

Further Instructions

2 Devote yourselves to prayer,(E) being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door(F) for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery(G) of Christ, for which I am in chains.(H) 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise(I) in the way you act toward outsiders;(J) make the most of every opportunity.(K) 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace,(L) seasoned with salt,(M) so that you may know how to answer everyone.(N)

Final Greetings

7 Tychicus(O) will tell you all the news about me. He is a dear brother, a faithful minister and fellow servant[a](P) in the Lord. 8 I am sending him to you for the express purpose that you may know about our[b] circumstances and that he may encourage your hearts.(Q) 9 He is coming with Onesimus,(R) our faithful and dear brother, who is one of you.(S) They will tell you everything that is happening here.

10 My fellow prisoner Aristarchus(T) sends you his greetings, as does Mark,(U) the cousin of Barnabas.(V) (You have received instructions about him; if he comes to you, welcome him.) 11 Jesus, who is called Justus, also sends greetings. These are the only Jews[c] among my co-workers(W) for the kingdom of God, and they have proved a comfort to me. 12 Epaphras,(X) who is one of you(Y) and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you,(Z) that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature(AA) and fully assured. 13 I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea(AB) and Hierapolis. 14 Our dear friend Luke,(AC) the doctor, and Demas(AD) send greetings. 15 Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea,(AE) and to Nympha and the church in her house.(AF)

16 After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read(AG) in the church of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.

17 Tell Archippus:(AH) “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”(AI)

18 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand.(AJ) Remember(AK) my chains.(AL) Grace be with you.(AM)
