For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit(A) and delight to see how disciplined(B) you are and how firm(C) your faith in Christ(D) is.

Spiritual Fullness in Christ

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,(E) continue to live your lives in him, rooted(F) and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught,(G) and overflowing with thankfulness.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy,(H) which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces[a] of this world(I) rather than on Christ.

For in Christ all the fullness(J) of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness.
