  1. Colossians 2:13 Some manuscripts us

10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 But every priest stands daily ministering and repetitively offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. 13 Since that time He has been waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has forever perfected those who are sanctified.

15 The Holy Spirit also witnesses to us about this. For after saying,

16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their hearts,
and in their minds I will write them,”[a]

17 then He adds,

“Their sins and lawless deeds
    will I remember no more.”[b]

18 Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Exhortation and Warning

19 Therefore, brothers, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way that He has opened for us through the veil, that is to say, His flesh,

10 And by that will, we have been made holy(A) through the sacrifice of the body(B) of Jesus Christ once for all.(C)

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices,(D) which can never take away sins.(E) 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins,(F) he sat down at the right hand of God,(G) 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.(H) 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect(I) forever those who are being made holy.(J)

15 The Holy Spirit also testifies(K) to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”[a](L)

17 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
    I will remember no more.”[b](M)

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

A Call to Persevere in Faith

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence(N) to enter the Most Holy Place(O) by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way(P) opened for us through the curtain,(Q) that is, his body,

Even David describes the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness without works:

“Blessed are those
    whose iniquities are forgiven,
    and whose sins are covered;
blessed is the man
to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”[a]

Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? We are saying that faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness.

David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

“Blessed are those
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”[a](A)

Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised?(B) We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness.(C)
