5 the faith and love that spring from the hope(A) stored up for you in heaven(B) and about which you have already heard in the true message(C) of the gospel 6 that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit(D) and growing throughout the whole world(E)—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. 7 You learned it from Epaphras,(F) our dear fellow servant,[a] who is a faithful minister(G) of Christ on our[b] behalf, 8 and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.(H)

5 You have this faith and love because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You previously heard about this hope through the true message, the good news, 6 which has come to you. This message has been bearing fruit and growing among you since the day you heard and truly understood God’s grace, in the same way that it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world. 7 You learned it from Epaphras, who is the fellow slave we love and Christ’s faithful minister for your sake. 8 He informed us of your love in the Spirit.

5 which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.
6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
7 You learned about the Good News from Epaphras, our beloved co-worker. He is Christ’s faithful servant, and he is helping us on your behalf.[a] 8 He has told us about the love for others that the Holy Spirit has given you.
