Thanksgiving

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. You have already heard about this hope in the word of truth,(A) the gospel that has come to you. It is bearing fruit(B) and growing all over the world,(C) just as it has among you since the day you heard it and came to truly appreciate(D) God’s grace.[a](E) You learned this from Epaphras,(F) our dearly loved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ(G) on your[b] behalf, and he has told us about your love in the Spirit.(H)

Thanksgiving for the Colossian Believers

We give thanks always to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ when we[a] pray for you, since we[b] heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope reserved for you in heaven, which you have heard about beforehand in the word of truth, the gospel, that has come to you, just as also in all the world it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as also among you from the day you heard about and understood the grace of God in truth, just as you learned it[c] from Epaphras, our dear fellow slave who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,[d] who also made clear to us your love in the Spirit.

In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit(G) and growing throughout the whole world(H)—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.
