28 Him we preach, (A)warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, (B)that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me (C)mightily.

Not Philosophy but Christ

For I want you to know what a great (D)conflict[a] I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, [b]both of the Father and of Christ, (E)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Now this I say (F)lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. For (G)though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing [c]to see (H)your good order and the (I)steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing(A) and teaching everyone with all wisdom,(B) so that we may present everyone fully mature(C) in Christ. 29 To this end I strenuously(D) contend(E) with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.(F)

I want you to know how hard I am contending(G) for you and for those at Laodicea,(H) and for all who have not met me personally. My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart(I) and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery(J) of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.(K) I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.(L) For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit(M) and delight to see how disciplined(N) you are and how firm(O) your faith in Christ(P) is.
