Instruções para um Viver Santo
3 Portanto, já que vocês ressuscitaram com Cristo, procurem as coisas que são do alto, onde Cristo está assentado à direita de Deus. 2 Mantenham o pensamento nas coisas do alto, e não nas coisas terrenas. 3 Pois vocês morreram, e agora a sua vida está escondida com Cristo em Deus. 4 Quando Cristo, que é a sua[a] vida, for manifestado, então vocês também serão manifestados com ele em glória.
5 Assim, façam morrer tudo o que pertence à natureza terrena de vocês: imoralidade sexual, impureza, paixão, desejos maus e a ganância, que é idolatria. 6 É por causa dessas coisas que vem a ira de Deus sobre os que vivem na desobediência[b], 7 as quais vocês praticaram no passado, quando costumavam viver nelas. 8 Mas agora, abandonem todas estas coisas: ira, indignação, maldade, maledicência e linguagem indecente no falar. 9 Não mintam uns aos outros, visto que vocês já se despiram do velho homem[c] com suas práticas 10 e se revestiram do novo, o qual está sendo renovado em conhecimento, à imagem do seu Criador. 11 Nessa nova vida já não há diferença entre grego e judeu, circunciso e incircunciso, bárbaro[d] e cita[e], escravo e livre, mas Cristo é tudo e está em todos.
12 Portanto, como povo escolhido de Deus, santo e amado, revistam-se de profunda compaixão, bondade, humildade, mansidão e paciência. 13 Suportem-se uns aos outros e perdoem as queixas que tiverem uns contra os outros. Perdoem como o Senhor lhes perdoou. 14 Acima de tudo, porém, revistam-se do amor, que é o elo perfeito.
15 Que a paz de Cristo seja o juiz em seu coração, visto que vocês foram chamados para viver em paz, como membros de um só corpo. E sejam agradecidos. 16 Habite ricamente em vocês a palavra de Cristo; ensinem e aconselhem-se uns aos outros com toda a sabedoria, e cantem salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais com gratidão a Deus em seu coração. 17 Tudo o que fizerem, seja em palavra ou em ação, façam-no em nome do Senhor Jesus, dando por meio dele graças a Deus Pai.
Responsabilidade Social
18 Mulheres, sujeite-se cada uma a seu marido, como convém a quem está no Senhor.
19 Maridos, ame cada um a sua mulher e não a tratem com amargura.
20 Filhos, obedeçam a seus pais em tudo, pois isso agrada ao Senhor.
21 Pais, não irritem seus filhos, para que eles não desanimem.
22 Escravos, obedeçam em tudo a seus senhores terrenos, não somente para agradá-los quando eles estão observando, mas com sinceridade de coração, pelo fato de vocês temerem o Senhor. 23 Tudo o que fizerem, façam de todo o coração, como para o Senhor, e não para os homens, 24 sabendo que receberão do Senhor a recompensa da herança. É a Cristo, o Senhor, que vocês estão servindo. 25 Quem cometer injustiça receberá de volta injustiça, e não haverá exceção para ninguém.

3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ,(A) set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.(B) 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.(C) 3 For you died,(D) and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life,(E) appears,(F) then you also will appear with him in glory.(G)
5 Put to death,(H) therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature:(I) sexual immorality,(J) impurity, lust, evil desires and greed,(K) which is idolatry.(L) 6 Because of these, the wrath of God(M) is coming.[b] 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.(N) 8 But now you must also rid yourselves(O) of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander,(P) and filthy language from your lips.(Q) 9 Do not lie to each other,(R) since you have taken off your old self(S) with its practices 10 and have put on the new self,(T) which is being renewed(U) in knowledge in the image of its Creator.(V) 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew,(W) circumcised or uncircumcised,(X) barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,(Y) but Christ is all,(Z) and is in all.
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves(AA) with compassion, kindness, humility,(AB) gentleness and patience.(AC) 13 Bear with each other(AD) and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.(AE) 14 And over all these virtues put on love,(AF) which binds them all together in perfect unity.(AG)
15 Let the peace of Christ(AH) rule in your hearts, since as members of one body(AI) you were called to peace.(AJ) And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ(AK) dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom(AL) through psalms,(AM) hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.(AN) 17 And whatever you do,(AO) whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks(AP) to God the Father through him.

18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands,(AR) as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers,[c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance(AS) from the Lord as a reward.(AT) It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.(AU)
