12 Al ser bautizados, ustedes fueron sepultados con Cristo, y fueron también resucitados con él, porque creyeron en el poder de Dios, que lo resucitó. 13 Ustedes, en otro tiempo, estaban muertos espiritualmente a causa de sus pecados y por no haberse despojado de su naturaleza pecadora; pero ahora Dios les ha dado vida juntamente con Cristo, en quien nos ha perdonado todos los pecados. 14 Dios anuló el documento de deuda que había contra nosotros y que nos obligaba; lo eliminó clavándolo en la cruz.

12 Ustedes la recibieron al ser sepultados con él en el bautismo. En él también fueron resucitados mediante la fe en el poder de Dios, quien lo resucitó de entre los muertos.

13 Antes de recibir esa circuncisión, ustedes estaban muertos en sus transgresiones. Sin embargo, Dios nos[a] dio vida en unión con Cristo, al perdonarnos todos los pecados 14 y anular la deuda[b] que teníamos pendiente por los requisitos de la Ley. Él anuló esa deuda que nos era adversa, clavándola en la cruz.

New English Translation

12 Having been buried with him in baptism, you also have been raised with him through your[a] faith in the power[b] of God who raised him from the dead. 13 And even though you were dead in your[c] transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless[d] made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions. 14 He has destroyed[e] what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness[f] expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross.
