¹⁷ And say to ^(A)Archippus, “Take heed to ^(B)the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.”

² to ^[a]the beloved Apphia, ^(A)Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:

¹⁷ for ^(A)he was numbered with us and obtained a part in ^(B)this ministry.”

Preach the Word

4 I ^(A)charge you ^[a]therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, ^(B)who will judge the living and the dead ^[b]at His appearing and His kingdom: ² Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. ^(C)Convince, ^(D)rebuke, ^(E)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. ^3 (F)For the time will come when they will not endure ^(G)sound doctrine, ^(H)but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; ⁴ and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and ^(I)be turned aside to fables. ⁵ But you be watchful in all things, ^(J)endure afflictions, do the work of ^(K)an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

² And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

²³ “And ^(A)they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the unholy, and cause them to ^(B)discern between the unclean and the clean. ^24 (C)In controversy they shall stand as judges, and judge it according to My judgments. They shall keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed meetings, ^(D)and they shall hallow My Sabbaths.

⁶ Therefore I remind you ^(A)to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Guard the Faith

²⁰ O Timothy! ^(A)Guard what was committed to your trust, ^(B)avoiding the profane and ^[a]idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—

The Good Confession

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. ¹² Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. ¹³ I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus ^(A)who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, ¹⁴ that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing,
