Do Not Love the World

^15 (A)Do not love the world or the things in the world. ^(B)If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, ^(C)the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. ¹⁷ And ^(D)the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

¹⁹ Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to ^(A)bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built ^(B)for the name of the Lord.”

Not Carnality but Christ

3 If then you were ^(A)raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, ^(B)where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

²³ But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, ^(A)Satan! ^(B)You are ^[a]an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

⁴ that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who ^(A)do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. ⁵ For ^(B)those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, ^(C)the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For ^(D)to be ^[a]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven^(A)

^19 (B)“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

^5 (A)Therefore put to death ^(B)your members which are on the earth: ^(C)fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, ^(D)which is idolatry.
