²⁵ I have become its servant^(A) by the commission God gave me^(B) to present to you the word of God^(C) in its fullness—

² Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me^(A) for you,

²³ if you continue^(A) in your faith, established^(B) and firm, and do not move from the hope^(C) held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven,^(D) and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.^(E)

² Preach^(A) the word;^(B) be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke^(C) and encourage^(D)—with great patience and careful instruction. ³ For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.^(E) Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.^{(F) 4} They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.^{(G) 5} But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship,^(H) do the work of an evangelist,^(I) discharge all the duties of your ministry.

⁷ On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task^(A) of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised,^[a](B) just as Peter^(C) had been to the circumcised.^{[b] 8} For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle^(D) to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle^(E) to the Gentiles.

⁶ If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters,^[a] you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith^(A) and of the good teaching that you have followed.^(B)

² We sent Timothy,^(A) who is our brother and co-worker^(B) in God’s service in spreading the gospel of Christ,^(C) to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,

¹⁵ Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me^{(A) 16} to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles.^(B) He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God,^(C) so that the Gentiles might become an offering^(D) acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷ Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus^(E) in my service to God.^{(F) 18} I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles^(G) to obey God^(H) by what I have said and done— ¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders,^(I) through the power of the Spirit of God.^(J) So from Jerusalem^(K) all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.^(L)

¹⁷ If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward;^(A) if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.^(B)
