¹⁸ He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.^(A)

²² And he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church,^{(A) 23} which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.^(B)

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and freed^[a] us from our sins by his blood

²⁰ But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died.^{[a](A) 21} For since death came through a human, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human,^{(B) 22} for as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. ²³ But each in its own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.

¹⁵ but speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,^{(A) 16} from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body’s growth in building itself up in love.

²³ that the Messiah^[a] must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the gentiles.”^(A)

¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.^(A)

³ But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man^[a] is the head of the woman,^[b] and God is the head of Christ.^(A)

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
