⁶ Because of these, the wrath of God^(A) is coming.^[a]

⁶ Let no one deceive you^(A) with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath^(B) comes on those who are disobedient.^(C)

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

¹⁸ The wrath of God^(A) is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,

¹⁴ As obedient^(A) children, do not conform^(B) to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.^(C)

⁴⁵ You are a true daughter of your mother, who despised^(A) her husband^(B) and her children; and you are a true sister of your sisters, who despised their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.^{(C) 46} Your older sister^(D) was Samaria, who lived to the north of you with her daughters; and your younger sister, who lived to the south of you with her daughters, was Sodom.^(E)
