Palabra de Dios para Todos
8 Ojalá fueras como mi hermanito,
un bebé de mi mamá.
Si te encontrara en la calle,
te besaría y nadie me señalaría por eso.
2 Te voy a llevar a casa de mi mamá
para que me instruyas[a];
y allí te daría a beber vino fragante,
mi dulce jugo de granada.

3 Él coloca uno de sus brazos bajo mi cabeza
y con el otro me abraza.
4 Mujeres de Jerusalén, júrenme por lo que más quieran,
que no molestarán al amor, que no lo despertarán
hasta que sea el momento indicado.

5 ¿Quién es esa mujer que sube del desierto
apoyada en su amado?

Debajo del manzano te desperté,
allí donde tu madre te concibió,
allí donde te dio a luz.
6 Llévame grabada en tu corazón como un tatuaje;
llévame como un tatuaje grabada en tu piel.
El amor es más fuerte que la muerte
y la pasión más fuerte que el sepulcro[b].
Sus destellos son de fuego,
como una llama divina.
7 Nada puede acabar con el amor,
nada puede destruirlo.
Si un hombre ofreciera toda su fortuna
para comprar el amor,
la gente lo despreciaría.

12 Salomón, puedes quedarte
con tus 1000 monedas de plata;
reparte 200 a los que trajeron uvas,
pero yo me quedo con mi campo de uvas.

Who nursed at my mother’s breasts!

I would cause you to drink of (B)spiced wine,
Of the juice of my pomegranate.

3 (C)His left hand is under my head,
And his right hand embraces me.

Do not stir up nor awaken love

8 ¡Cómo quisiera que fueras mi hermano! Entonces podría besarte aunque nos vieran, y nadie se burlaría de mí. 2 Te llevaría de la mano al hogar de mi infancia, y allí me enseñarías. Yo te daría a beber vino con especias, dulce vino de granada. 3 ¡Pon tu brazo izquierdo bajo mi cabeza y rodea mi cintura con tu brazo derecho!

4 Les ruego, mujeres de Jerusalén, que no despierten a mi amada hasta que ella quiera.

5 ¿Quién es esta que sube del desierto, apoyada en el hombro de su amado?

Bajo el manzano donde entre dolores te trajo al mundo tu madre, allí desperté tu amor.
6 Grábame como un sello sobre tu corazón. Llévame como un tatuaje en tu brazo, porque fuerte como la muerte es el amor, y tenaz como llama divina es el fuego ardiente del amor. 7 ¡Nada puede apagar las llamas del amor! ¡Nada, ni las inundaciones ni las aguas abundantes del mar podrán ahogarlo! Si alguien tratara de comprarlo con todo cuanto tiene sólo lograría que le despreciaran.

8 Nuestra hermana es jovencita, todavía no tiene pechos. ¿Qué haremos si alguien la pide por esposa?
9 La reforzaremos con defensas de plata si es muralla, y si es puerta, la cubriremos con paneles de cedro.

10 Soy alta, esbelta, y de pechos bien desarrollados, y he hallado gracia a los ojos de mi amado. 11 Salomón tenía una viña en Baal Jamón y la dio en renta a unos labradores, cada uno de los cuales debía pagar mil piezas de plata.
12 Pero en cuanto a mi viña, tú, Salomón, quédate con las mil piezas de plata y yo les daré doscientas a los que la cuidan.

13 Amada mía, tú que moras en los huertos, qué hermoso que tus compañeros puedan escuchar tu voz; deja que yo también la oiga.

8 If only you were like a brother to me,
like[a] one who nursed at my mother’s breasts.
If I found you outside I would kiss you,
and no one would view me with contempt.[b]
2 I would lead you,
I would bring you
to the house of my mother
who used to teach me.
I would give you some spiced wine to drink,
from the juice of my pomegranates.[c]
3 Let his left hand be under my head,
and let his right hand embrace me.
4 Swear to me, young women of Jerusalem,
that you won’t awaken or arouse love
before its proper time![d]

5 Who is this coming up from the desert,
leaning on her beloved?

Under the apple tree[e] I awakened you.
There your mother had gone into labor with you;
there she went into labor and gave birth to you.
6 Set me like a seal[f] over your heart,
like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
passion[g] as intense as Sheol.[h]
The flames of love[i] are flames of fire,
a blaze that comes from the Lord.[j]
7 Mighty bodies of water cannot extinguish love,
rivers cannot put it out.
If a man were to give all the wealth of his house for love,
he would surely be viewed with contempt.

and she has not yet reached maturity.[l]
What will we do for our sister
to prepare her for[m] her engagement?[n]
9 If she’s a wall,
on her we will build a battlement of silver.

10 I was a wall and my breasts were like towers.
Then I became like one who finds peace[o] in his eyes.
11 Solomon has a vineyard in Baal-hamon.
He entrusted the vineyard to caretakers—
each one is to bring 1,000 pieces of silver
in exchange for its fruit.
12 My vineyard belongs to me and is at my disposal.[p]
The 1,000 are for you, Solomon,
and 200 are for those who take care of its fruit.

13 You who sit in the gardens,
companions are listening for your voice,
but let me hear it.

14 Come quickly, my beloved, and be like a gazelle
or a young stag on the mountains of spices.
