Las jóvenes de Jerusalén
6 ¿Adónde se ha ido tu amante,
oh mujer de singular belleza?
Dinos por cuál camino se fue
para ayudarte a encontrarlo.

2 Mi amante ha bajado a su jardín,
a sus lechos de especias,
para pasear por los jardines
y juntar los lirios.
3 Yo soy de mi amante, y mi amante es mío.
Él apacienta entre los lirios.

4 Eres hermosa, amada mía,
como la bella ciudad de Tirsa.
Sí, eres tan hermosa como Jerusalén,
tan majestuosa como un ejército con sus estandartes desplegados al viento.
5 Aparta de mí tus ojos,
porque me dominan.
Tu cabello cae en ondas,
como un rebaño de cabras que serpentea por las laderas de Galaad.
6 Tus dientes son blancos como ovejas
recién bañadas.
Tu sonrisa es perfecta;
cada diente hace juego con su par.[a]
7 Tus mejillas son como granadas de color rosado
detrás de tu velo.
8 Aun entre sesenta reinas
y ochenta concubinas
e incontables doncellas,
9 yo todavía elegiría a mi paloma, a mi mujer perfecta,
la favorita de su madre,
muy amada por quien la dio a luz.

hasta las reinas y las concubinas del palacio le entonan alabanzas:
10 «¿Quién es esa, que se levanta como la aurora,
tan hermosa como la luna,
tan resplandeciente como el sol,
tan majestuosa como un ejército con sus estandartes desplegados al viento?».

11 Bajé a la arboleda de nogales
y salí al valle para ver los nuevos brotes primaverales,
para ver si habían brotado las vides
o si las granadas ya estaban florecidas.
12 Antes de darme cuenta,

Which way did your beloved turn,
that we may look for him with you?

to the beds of spices,(E)
to browse in the gardens
and to gather lilies.
3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine;(F)
he browses among the lilies.(G)

4 You are as beautiful as Tirzah,(H) my darling,
as lovely as Jerusalem,(I)
as majestic as troops with banners.(J)
5 Turn your eyes from me;
they overwhelm me.
Your hair is like a flock of goats
descending from Gilead.(K)
6 Your teeth are like a flock of sheep
coming up from the washing.
Each has its twin,
not one of them is missing.(L)
7 Your temples behind your veil(M)
are like the halves of a pomegranate.(N)
8 Sixty queens(O) there may be,
and eighty concubines,(P)
and virgins beyond number;
9 but my dove,(Q) my perfect one,(R) is unique,
the only daughter of her mother,
the favorite of the one who bore her.(S)
The young women saw her and called her blessed;
the queens and concubines praised her.

fair as the moon, bright as the sun,
majestic as the stars in procession?

11 I went down to the grove of nut trees
to look at the new growth in the valley,
to see if the vines had budded
or the pomegranates were in bloom.(T)
12 Before I realized it,
my desire set me among the royal chariots of my people.[a]
