Cantares 5
Nueva Versión Internacional (Castilian)
El amado
5 He entrado ya en mi jardín,
hermana y novia mía,
y en él recojo mirra y bálsamo;
allí me sacio del panal y de su miel;
allí bebo mi vino y mi leche.
Los amigos
¡Comed y bebed, amigos,
y embriagaos de amor!
Cuarto Canto
La amada
2 Yo dormía, pero mi corazón velaba.
¡Y oí una voz!
¡Mi amado estaba a la puerta!
«Hermana, amada mía;
preciosa paloma mía,
¡déjame entrar!
Mi cabeza está empapada de rocío;
la humedad de la noche corre por mi pelo».
3 Ya me he quitado la ropa;
¡cómo volver a vestirme!
Ya me he lavado los pies;
¡cómo ensuciarlos de nuevo!
4 Mi amado pasó la mano
por la abertura del cerrojo;
¡se estremecieron mis entrañas al sentirlo!
5 Me levanté para abrir a mi amado;
¡gotas de mirra corrían por mis manos!
¡Se deslizaban entre mis dedos
y caían sobre la aldaba!
6 Le abrí a mi amado,
pero ya no estaba allí.
Se había marchado,
y tras su voz se fue mi alma.
Lo busqué, y no lo hallé.
Lo llamé, y no me respondió.
7 Me encontraron los centinelas
mientras rondaban la ciudad;
los que vigilan las murallas
me hirieron, me golpearon;
11 Su cabeza es oro puro;
su cabellera es ondulada
y negra como un cuervo.
12 Sus ojos parecen palomas
posadas junto a los arroyos,
bañadas en leche,
engarzadas como joyas.
13 Sus mejillas son como lechos de bálsamo,
como cultivos de aromáticas hierbas.
Sus labios son azucenas
por las que fluye mirra.
14 Sus brazos son barras de oro
engarzadas sobre topacios.
Su cuerpo es pulido marfil
incrustado de zafiros.
15 Sus piernas son pilares de mármol
que descansan sobre bases de oro puro.
Su porte es como el del Líbano,
esbelto como sus cedros.
16 Su paladar es la dulzura misma;
¡todo él es un encanto!
¡Tal es mi amado, tal es mi amigo,
mujeres de Jerusalén!

The Bride Praises the Bridegroom
The Beloved
5 I (A)have come to my garden, my (B)sister, my spouse;
I have gathered my myrrh with my spice;
(C)I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey;
I have drunk my wine with my milk.
(To His Friends)
Eat, O (D)friends!
Drink, yes, drink deeply,
O beloved ones!
The Shulamite’s Troubled Evening
The Shulamite
2 I sleep, but my heart is awake;
It is the voice of my beloved!
(E)He knocks, saying,
“Open for me, my sister, [a]my love,
My dove, my perfect one;
For my head is covered with dew,
My [b]locks with the drops of the night.”
3 I have taken off my robe;
How can I put it on again?
I have washed my feet;
How can I [c]defile them?
4 My beloved put his hand
By the [d]latch of the door,
And my heart yearned for him.
5 I arose to open for my beloved,
And my hands dripped with myrrh,
My fingers with liquid myrrh,
On the handles of the lock.
6 I opened for my beloved,
But my beloved had turned away and was gone.
My [e]heart leaped up when he spoke.
(F)I sought him, but I could not find him;
I called him, but he gave me no answer.
7 (G)The watchmen who went about the city found me.
They struck me, they wounded me;
The keepers of the walls
Took my veil away from me.
8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
If you find my beloved,
That you tell him I am lovesick!
The Daughters of Jerusalem
9 What is your beloved
More than another beloved,
(H)O fairest among women?
What is your beloved
More than another beloved,
That you so [f]charge us?
The Shulamite
10 My beloved is white and ruddy,
[g]Chief among ten thousand.
11 His head is like the finest gold;
His locks are wavy,
And black as a raven.
12 (I)His eyes are like doves
By the rivers of waters,
Washed with milk,
And [h]fitly set.
13 His cheeks are like a bed of spices,
Banks of scented herbs.
His lips are lilies,
Dripping liquid myrrh.
14 His hands are rods of gold
Set with beryl.
His body is carved ivory
Inlaid with sapphires.
15 His legs are pillars of marble
Set on bases of fine gold.
His countenance is like Lebanon,
Excellent as the cedars.
16 His mouth is most sweet,
Yes, he is altogether lovely.
This is my beloved,
And this is my friend,
O daughters of Jerusalem!

Song of Solomon 5
King James Version
5 I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.
2 I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
3 I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?
4 My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.
5 I rose up to open to my beloved; and my hands dropped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.
6 I opened to my beloved; but my beloved had withdrawn himself, and was gone: my soul failed when he spake: I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.
7 The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me.
8 I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, that ye tell him, that I am sick of love.
9 What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven.
12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh.
14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.
15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
