5 Întăriţi-mă cu prăjituri cu stafide,
învioraţi-mă cu mere,
fiindcă sunt bolnavă de iubire!
6 Mâna lui stângă să fie sub capul meu
şi cu mâna lui dreaptă să mă îmbrăţişeze!
7 Vă conjur, fiice ale Ierusalimului,
pe gazelele şi pe căprioarele câmpului:
nu stârniţi şi nu treziţi iubirea
până când nu-i va face ei plăcere[b]!
8 Auziţi glasul iubitului meu!
Iată-l venind,
sărind peste munţi,
săltând peste dealuri!
9 Iubitul meu este ca o gazelă,
ca un pui de cerb.
Iată-l că stă în spatele zidurilor casei noastre,
uitându-se prin ferestre
şi contemplând printre zăbrele.
10 Iubitul meu a vorbit şi mi-a zis:
„Ridică-te, iubita mea,
şi vino cu mine, frumoasa mea,
11 pentru că, iată, iarna a trecut,
ploaia s-a oprit şi s-a dus![c]
12 Pe câmp răsar florile,
a venit timpul cântării
şi pe deasupra câmpiilor noastre se aude glasul turturicii!
13 Smochinii dau primele roade
şi florile viilor îşi răspândesc parfumul.
Ridică-te şi vino, iubita mea,
vino cu mine, frumoasa mea!
14 Porumbiţa mea, din crăpăturile stâncii,
din locurile ascunse ale înălţimilor,
arată-mi faţa ta
şi lasă-mă să-ţi aud glasul,
căci glasul tău este dulce,
iar faţa ta este încântătoare!“

15 Prindeţi-ne vulpile,
micuţele vulpi
care distrug viile,
viile noastre care sunt în floare!

16 Iubitul meu este al meu şi eu sunt a lui!
El îşi paşte turma printre crini.
17 Până când se va lumina de ziuă,
iar umbrele vor zbura,
întoarce-te, iubitul meu, şi fii ca o gazelă,
sau ca un pui de cerb peste munţii stâncoşi![e]

And the lily of the valleys.

2 Like a lily among thorns,
So is my love among the daughters.

3 Like an apple tree among the trees of the woods,
So is my beloved among the sons.
I sat down in his shade with great delight,
And (A)his fruit was sweet to my taste.
The Shulamite to the Daughters of Jerusalem
4 He brought me to the [a]banqueting house,
And his banner over me was love.
5 Sustain me with cakes of raisins,
Refresh me with apples,
For I am lovesick.
6 (B)His left hand is under my head,
And his right hand embraces me.
7 (C)I [b]charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
By the gazelles or by the does of the field,
Do not stir up nor awaken love
Until it pleases.

8 The voice of my beloved!
Behold, he comes
Leaping upon the mountains,
Skipping upon the hills.
9 (D)My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Behold, he stands behind our wall;
He is looking through the windows,
Gazing through the lattice.
10 My beloved spoke, and said to me:
“Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away.
11 For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grapes
Give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away!
14 “O my (E)dove, in the clefts of the rock,
In the secret places of the cliff,
Let me see your [c]face,
(F)Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet,
And your face is lovely.”
