9 Y EL quinto ángel tocó la trompeta, y vi una estrella que cayó del cielo en la tierra; y le fué dada la llave del pozo del abismo.
2 Y abrió el pozo del abismo, y subió humo del pozo como el humo de un gran horno; y oscurecióse el sol y el aire por el humo del pozo.
3 Y del humo salieron langostas sobre la tierra; y fueles dada potestad, como tienen potestad los escorpiones de la tierra.
4 Y les fué mandado que no hiciesen daño á la hierba de la tierra, ni á ninguna cosa verde, ni á ningún árbol, sino solamente á los hombres que no tienen la señal de Dios en sus frentes.
5 Y le fué dado que no los matasen, sino que los atormentasen cinco meses; y su tormento era como tormento de escorpión, cuando hiere al hombre.
6 Y en aquellos días buscarán los hombres la muerte, y no la hallarán; y desearán morir, y la muerte huirá de ellos.
7 Y el parecer de las langostas era semejante á caballos aparejados para la guerra: y sobre sus cabezas tenían como coronas semejantes al oro; y sus caras como caras de hombres.
8 Y tenían cabellos como cabellos de mujeres: y sus dientes eran como dientes de leones.
9 Y tenían corazas como corazas de hierro; y el estruendo de sus alas, como el ruido de carros que con muchos caballos corren á la batalla.
10 Y tenían colas semejantes á las de los escorpiones, y tenían en sus colas aguijones; y su poder era de hacer daño á los hombres cinco meses.
11 Y tienen sobre sí por rey al ángel del abismo, cuyo nombre en hebraico es Abaddon, y en griego, Apollyon.
12 El primer Ay! es pasado: he aquí, vienen aún dos ayes después de estas cosas.
13 Y el sexto ángel tocó la trompeta; y oí una voz de los cuatro cuernos del altar de oro que estaba delante de Dios,
14 Diciendo al sexto ángel que tenía la trompeta: Desata los cuatro ángeles que están atados en el gran río Eufrates.
15 Y fueron desatados los cuatro ángeles que estaban aparejados para la hora y día y mes y año, para matar la tercera parte de los hombres.
16 Y el número del ejército de los de á caballo era doscientos millones. Y oí el número de ellos.
17 Y así vi los caballos en visión, y los que sobre ellos estaban sentados, los cuales tenían corazas de fuego, de jacinto, y de azufre. Y las cabezas de los caballos eran como cabezas de leones; y de la boca de ellos salía fuego y humo y azufre.
18 De estas tres plagas fué muerta la tercera parte de los hombres: del fuego, y del humo, y del azufre, que salían de la boca de ellos.
19 Porque su poder está en su boca y en sus colas: porque sus colas eran semejantes á serpientes, y tenían cabezas, y con ellas dañan.
20 Y los otros hombres que no fueron muertos con estas plagas, aun no se arrepintieron de las obras de sus manos, para que no adorasen á los demonios, y á las imágenes de oro, y de plata, y de metal, y de piedra, y de madera; las cuales no pueden ver, ni oir, ni andar:
21 Y no se arrepintieron de sus homicidios, ni de sus hechicerías, ni de su fornicación, ni de sus hurtos.

9 And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and (A)I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given (B)the key to the shaft of (C)the bottomless pit.[a] 2 He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft (D)rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and (E)the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft. 3 Then from the smoke came (F)locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told (G)not to harm (H)the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have (I)the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were allowed to torment them (J)for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. 6 And in those days (K)people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.
7 (L)In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: (M)on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were (N)like human faces, 8 their hair like women's hair, and (O)their teeth like lions' teeth; 9 they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was (P)like the noise of many chariots with (Q)horses rushing into battle. 10 They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people (R)for five months is in their tails. 11 They have (S)as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is (T)Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.[b]
12 (U)The first woe has passed; behold, two woes are still to come.
13 Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a voice from (V)the four horns of the golden altar before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release (W)the four angels who are bound at (X)the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year, were released (Y)to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of (Z)mounted troops was (AA)twice ten thousand times ten thousand; (AB)I heard their number. 17 And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire[c] and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were (AC)like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. 19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents with heads, and by means of them they wound.
20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, (AD)did not repent of (AE)the works of their hands nor give up worshiping (AF)demons (AG)and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, 21 nor did they repent of their murders or their (AH)sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

9 Затрубил пятый ангел, и я увидел звезду, упавшую с неба на землю. Звезде был дан ключ от колодца бездны. 2 Когда звезда открыла колодец бездны, оттуда поднялся дым, как из огромной печи. От дыма из колодца потемнели даже солнце и небо. 3 Из дыма вышла на землю саранча[a], которой дана была власть, какую имеют на земле скорпионы. 4 Ей было запрещено причинять вред земной траве, любым зеленым растениям и любому дереву, но она могла вредить тем людям, у которых на лбу не было печати Бога. 5 Саранче не было разрешено убивать их, а только мучить пять месяцев. И люди мучились от боли, которая была как от укусов скорпиона. 6 В те дни люди будут искать смерти и не смогут ее найти, они захотят умереть, но сама смерть убежит от них.
7 Саранча была похожа на боевых коней, готовых к сражению. На ее головах было нечто вроде корон, как будто из золота, а ее лица были похожи на человеческие. 8 Ее волосы напоминали женские, а зубы были похожи на клыки льва. 9 На саранче была твердая, как железо, броня, и шум ее крыльев напоминал шум коней и боевых колесниц, мчащихся на сражение[b]. 10 У нее были хвосты, как у скорпионов, и жала, и в этих хвостах заключалась ее власть вредить людям пять месяцев. 11 Царем над ней был ангел бездны, его звали по-еврейски Аваддон, а по-гречески Аполлион («губитель»).

Хвосты эти похожи на змей: у них есть головы, которыми они и причиняли вред.
20 Те, кто не был погублен этими бедствиями, так и не раскаялись в своих делах. Они по-прежнему поклонялись демонам и идолам из золота, серебра, бронзы, камня и дерева – идолам, которые не могут ни видеть, ни слышать, ни ходить[d]. 21 Они не раскаялись ни в убийствах своих, ни в колдовстве, ни в разврате, ни в воровстве.
