8 Cuando el Cordero rompió el séptimo sello, hubo silencio en el cielo como por media hora.
2 Y vi a los siete ángeles que están de pie delante de Dios, a los cuales se les dieron siete trompetas.
3 Se acercó otro ángel y se puso de pie frente al altar. Tenía un incensario de oro, y se le entregó mucho incienso para ofrecerlo, junto con las oraciones de todo el pueblo de Dios, sobre el altar de oro que está delante del trono. 4 Y, junto con esas oraciones, subió el humo del incienso desde la mano del ángel hasta la presencia de Dios. 5 Luego el ángel tomó el incensario y lo llenó con brasas del altar, las cuales arrojó sobre la tierra; y se produjeron truenos, estruendos,[a] relámpagos y un terremoto.
Las trompetas
6 Los siete ángeles que tenían las siete trompetas se dispusieron a tocarlas.
7 Tocó el primero su trompeta, y fueron arrojados sobre la tierra granizo y fuego mezclados con sangre. Y se quemó la tercera parte de la tierra, la tercera parte de los árboles y toda la hierba verde.
8 Tocó el segundo ángel su trompeta, y fue arrojado al mar algo que parecía una enorme montaña envuelta en llamas. La tercera parte del mar se convirtió en sangre, 9 y murió la tercera parte de las criaturas que viven en el mar; también fue destruida la tercera parte de los barcos.
10 Tocó el tercer ángel su trompeta, y una enorme estrella, que ardía como una antorcha, cayó desde el cielo sobre la tercera parte de los ríos y sobre los manantiales. 11 La estrella se llama Amargura.[b] Y la tercera parte de las aguas se volvió amarga, y por causa de esas aguas murió mucha gente.
12 Tocó el cuarto ángel su trompeta, y fue asolada la tercera parte del sol, de la luna y de las estrellas, de modo que se oscureció la tercera parte de ellos. Así quedó sin luz la tercera parte del día y la tercera parte de la noche.
13 Seguí observando, y oí un águila que volaba en medio del cielo y gritaba fuertemente: «¡Ay! ¡Ay! ¡Ay de los habitantes de la tierra cuando suenen las tres trompetas que los últimos tres ángeles están a punto de tocar!»

8 Cuando el Cordero[a] rompió el séptimo sello,[b] todos en el cielo guardaron silencio durante media hora.
2 Entonces vi que se le dio una trompeta a cada uno de los siete ángeles que estaban de pie delante de Dios. 3 Después vino otro ángel con un tazón de oro, y en ese tazón pusieron mucho incienso, para que lo ofreciera ante el altar junto con las oraciones del pueblo de Dios. 4 El humo del incienso subió de la mano del ángel, junto con las oraciones, hasta donde estaba Dios. 5 Entonces el ángel tomó el tazón y lo llenó con los carbones encendidos que estaban sobre el altar. Luego, lanzó todo sobre la tierra, y por todos lados hubo un fuerte ruido de truenos, y relámpagos, y un temblor de tierra.
6 Después, los siete ángeles que tenían las siete trompetas se dispusieron a tocarlas.
Las primeras cuatro trompetas
7 El primer ángel tocó su trompeta, y desde el cielo cayeron granizo y fuego mezclados con sangre. Se quemó la tercera parte de la tierra, y también la tercera parte de todos los árboles y de toda la hierba.
8 El segundo ángel tocó su trompeta, y fue lanzado al mar algo parecido a una gran montaña envuelta en llamas. Entonces, la tercera parte del mar se convirtió en sangre, 9 y murió la tercera parte de todo lo que vivía en el mar, y fue destruida la tercera parte de los barcos.
10 Cuando el tercer ángel tocó su trompeta, una gran estrella cayó del cielo sobre la tercera parte de los ríos y de los manantiales. Esa estrella ardía como una antorcha, 11 y se llamaba «Amargura». Entonces, la tercera parte de las aguas se volvió amarga, y mucha gente murió al beberla.
12 El cuarto ángel tocó su trompeta, y la tercera parte del sol, de la luna y de las estrellas se dañó y dejó de alumbrar. Por eso el sol no alumbraba durante la tercera parte del día, y la luna y las estrellas no brillaban durante la tercera parte de la noche.
13 Luego vi un águila[c] que volaba en lo alto del cielo, y la oí decir con fuerte voz: «¡Qué mal les va a ir a todos los que viven en el mundo, cuando los otros tres ángeles toquen sus trompetas!»

8 When(A) He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 (B)And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, (C)and to them were given seven trumpets. 3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with (D)the prayers of all the saints upon (E)the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And (F)the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And (G)there were noises, thunderings, (H)lightnings, (I)and an earthquake.
6 So the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
First Trumpet: Vegetation Struck
7 The first angel sounded: (J)And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown (K)to the [a]earth. And a third (L)of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
Second Trumpet: The Seas Struck
8 Then the second angel sounded: (M)And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, (N)and a third of the sea (O)became blood. 9 (P)And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
Third Trumpet: The Waters Struck
10 Then the third angel sounded: (Q)And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, (R)and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 (S)The name of the star is Wormwood. (T)A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
Fourth Trumpet: The Heavens Struck
12 (U)Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day [b]did not shine, and likewise the night.
13 And I looked, (V)and I heard an [c]angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, (W)“Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”

8 When he opened the seventh seal,(A) there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels(B) who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.(C)
3 Another angel,(D) who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people,(E) on the golden altar(F) in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God(G) from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar,(H) and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder,(I) rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.(J)
The Trumpets
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets(K) prepared to sound them.
7 The first angel(L) sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire(M) mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third(N) of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.(O)
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain,(P) all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third(Q) of the sea turned into blood,(R) 9 a third(S) of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky(T) on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water(U)— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third(V) of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.(W)
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third(X) of them turned dark.(Y) A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.(Z)
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair(AA) call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe(AB) to the inhabitants of the earth,(AC) because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
