7 Después de esto vi a cuatro ángeles en pie sobre los cuatro ángulos de la tierra, que detenían los cuatro vientos(A) de la tierra, para que no soplase viento alguno sobre la tierra, ni sobre el mar, ni sobre ningún árbol. 2 Vi también a otro ángel que subía de donde sale el sol, y tenía el sello del Dios vivo; y clamó a gran voz a los cuatro ángeles, a quienes se les había dado el poder de hacer daño a la tierra y al mar, 3 diciendo: No hagáis daño a la tierra, ni al mar, ni a los árboles, hasta que hayamos sellado en sus frentes a los siervos de nuestro Dios.(B) 4 Y oí el número de los sellados: ciento cuarenta y cuatro mil sellados de todas las tribus de los hijos de Israel. 5 De la tribu de Judá, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Rubén, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Gad, doce mil sellados. 6 De la tribu de Aser, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Neftalí, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Manasés, doce mil sellados. 7 De la tribu de Simeón, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Leví, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Isacar, doce mil sellados. 8 De la tribu de Zabulón, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de José, doce mil sellados. De la tribu de Benjamín, doce mil sellados.
La multitud vestida de ropas blancas
9 Después de esto miré, y he aquí una gran multitud, la cual nadie podía contar, de todas naciones y tribus y pueblos y lenguas, que estaban delante del trono y en la presencia del Cordero, vestidos de ropas blancas, y con palmas en las manos; 10 y clamaban a gran voz, diciendo: La salvación pertenece a nuestro Dios que está sentado en el trono, y al Cordero. 11 Y todos los ángeles estaban en pie alrededor del trono, y de los ancianos y de los cuatro seres vivientes; y se postraron sobre sus rostros delante del trono, y adoraron a Dios, 12 diciendo: Amén. La bendición y la gloria y la sabiduría y la acción de gracias y la honra y el poder y la fortaleza, sean a nuestro Dios por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
13 Entonces uno de los ancianos habló, diciéndome: Estos que están vestidos de ropas blancas, ¿quiénes son, y de dónde han venido? 14 Yo le dije: Señor, tú lo sabes. Y él me dijo: Estos son los que han salido de la gran tribulación,(C) y han lavado sus ropas, y las han emblanquecido en la sangre del Cordero. 15 Por esto están delante del trono de Dios, y le sirven día y noche en su templo; y el que está sentado sobre el trono extenderá su tabernáculo sobre ellos. 16 Ya no tendrán hambre ni sed, y el sol no caerá más sobre ellos, ni calor alguno;(D) 17 porque el Cordero que está en medio del trono los pastoreará,(E) y los guiará a fuentes de aguas de vida;(F) y Dios enjugará toda lágrima de los ojos de ellos.(G)

7 1-3 Después de esto, vi cuatro ángeles que estaban de pie. Cada uno de ellos miraba a uno de los cuatro puntos cardinales. Estaban deteniendo al viento, para que no soplara sobre la tierra, ni sobre el mar, ni sobre los árboles. Estos cuatro ángeles habían recibido poder para dañar a la tierra y el mar. Vi también a otro ángel, que venía del oriente, el cual tenía el sello del Dios que vive para siempre. Con ese mismo sello debía marcar a todos los que pertenecen a Dios, para protegerlos. Ese ángel les gritó con fuerte voz a los otros cuatro: «¡No dañen la tierra ni el mar, ni los árboles, hasta que hayamos marcado en la frente a los que sirven a nuestro Dios!»
4-8 Luego oí que se mencionaba a las doce tribus de Israel, es decir, a Judá, a Rubén, a Gad, a Aser, a Neftalí, a Manasés, a Simeón, a Leví, a Isacar, a Zabulón, a José y a Benjamín. De cada una de las doce tribus fueron marcados doce mil, es decir, un total de ciento cuarenta y cuatro mil.[a]
9 Después de esto vi a mucha gente de todos los países, y de todas las razas, idiomas y pueblos. ¡Eran tantos que nadie los podía contar! Estaban de pie, delante del trono y del Cordero,[b] vestidos con ropas blancas. En sus manos llevaban ramas de palma,[c] 10 y gritaban con fuerte voz:
«Nos ha salvado nuestro Dios,
que está sentado en el trono,
y también el Cordero.»
11 Todos los ángeles estaban de pie alrededor del trono, y alrededor de los ancianos y de los cuatro seres vivientes. Ellos se inclinaron delante del trono, hasta tocar el suelo con la frente, y adoraron a Dios 12 diciendo:
«¡Alabemos a nuestro Dios!
¡Así sea!
»Admiremos su fama y sabiduría,
su poder y fortaleza.
Demos a nuestro Dios,
gracias y honor por siempre.
¡Así sea!»
13 Entonces, uno de los ancianos me preguntó:
—¿Quiénes son los que están vestidos de blanco? ¿De dónde vienen?
14 Yo le respondí:
—Señor, usted lo sabe.
Y él me dijo:
—Son los que no murieron durante el tiempo de gran sufrimiento que hubo en la tierra. Ellos confiaron en Dios, y él les perdonó sus pecados por medio de la muerte del Cordero.
15 »Por eso están ahora
delante del trono de Dios,
y día y noche
le sirven en su templo.
»Dios estará con ellos,
y los protegerá.
16 »Ya no tendrán hambre ni sed,
ni los quemará el sol
ni los molestará el calor.
17 »Dios secará todas sus lágrimas,
y los cuidará el Cordero
que está en medio del trono,
así como el pastor
cuida sus ovejas
y las lleva a manantiales
de agua que da vida.

7 After this I saw (A)four angels standing at the (B)four corners of the earth, holding back (C)the four winds of the earth (D)so that no wind would blow on the earth, or on the sea, or on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending (E)from the rising of the sun, holding the (F)seal of (G)the living God; and he called out with a loud voice to the (H)four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, “(I)Do not harm the earth, or the sea, or the trees until we have (J)sealed the bond-servants of our God on their (K)foreheads.”
The 144,000
4 And I heard the (L)number of those who were sealed: (M)144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:
5 from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand, from the tribe of Gad twelve thousand, 6 from the tribe of Asher twelve thousand, from the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand, from the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand, 7 from the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand, from the tribe of Levi twelve thousand, from the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand, 8 from the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand, from the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand, and from the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand were sealed.
A Multitude from the Tribulation
9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from (N)every nation and all the tribes, peoples, and languages, standing (O)before the throne and (P)before the Lamb, clothed in (Q)white robes, and (R)palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they *cried out with a loud voice, saying,
11 And all the angels were standing (U)around the throne and around (V)the elders and the (W)four living creatures; and they (X)fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying,
“(Y)Amen, (Z)blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might belong to our God forever and ever. (AA)Amen.”
13 Then one of the elders (AB)responded, saying to me, “These who are clothed in the (AC)white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?” 14 I [a]said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the (AD)great tribulation, and they have (AE)washed their robes and made them (AF)white in the (AG)blood of the Lamb. 15 For this reason they are (AH)before the throne of God, and they (AI)serve Him day and night in His [b](AJ)temple; and (AK)He who sits on the throne will spread His (AL)tabernacle over them. 16 (AM)They will no longer hunger nor thirst, nor will the sun [c]beat down on them, nor any scorching heat; 17 for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their (AN)shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the [d](AO)water of life; and (AP)God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners(A) of the earth, holding back the four winds(B) of the earth to prevent(C) any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal(D) of the living God.(E) He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea:(F) 3 “Do not harm(G) the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads(H) of the servants of our God.” 4 Then I heard the number(I) of those who were sealed: 144,000(J) from all the tribes of Israel.
5 From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
6 from the tribe of Asher 12,000,
from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000,

The Great Multitude in White Robes
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language,(K) standing before the throne(L) and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes(M) and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders(P) and the four living creatures.(Q) They fell down on their faces(R) before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”(S)
13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes(T)—who are they, and where did they come from?”
14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes(U) and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.(V) 15 Therefore,
“they are before the throne of God(W)
and serve him(X) day and night in his temple;(Y)
and he who sits on the throne(Z)
will shelter them with his presence.(AA)
16 ‘Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.(AB)
The sun will not beat down on them,’[a]
nor any scorching heat.(AC)
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;(AD)
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’[b](AE)
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’[c]”(AF)
