Los cuatro primeros sellos
6 Vi entonces cómo el Cordero rompió el primero de los siete sellos, al tiempo que uno de los cuatro seres vivientes decía con voz de trueno:
2 — ¡Ven!
Al mirar, vi un caballo blanco, cuyo jinete iba armado de un arco. Le dieron una corona, y salió como seguro vencedor. 3 El Cordero rompió el segundo sello, y oí que el segundo ser viviente decía:
— ¡Ven!
4 Salió entonces otro caballo de color rojo. A su jinete se le dio una gran espada con la misión de borrar la paz de la tierra provocando guerras fratricidas.
5 Rompió el Cordero el tercer sello, y oí al tercer ser viviente que decía:
— ¡Ven!
Al mirar, vi un caballo negro, cuyo jinete sostenía una balanza en la mano. 6 Emergiendo de entre los cuatro seres vivientes, una especie de voz proclamaba:
— Por un kilo de trigo, el jornal de un día; por tres kilos de cebada, el jornal de un día; no causes daño, sin embargo, al aceite y al vino.
7 El Cordero rompió el cuarto sello, y oí la voz del cuarto ser viviente, que decía:
— ¡Ven!
8 Al mirar, vi un caballo amarillo montado por un jinete que se llamaba “Muerte”. Detrás de él galopaba el “Abismo”, ambos con poder para aniquilar la cuarta parte de la tierra valiéndose de la espada, el hambre, la peste y los animales salvajes.
El quinto y sexto sello
9 El Cordero rompió el quinto sello, y vi debajo del altar, vivos, los que habían sido asesinados por haber proclamado la palabra de Dios y haber dado testimonio de su fe. 10 Y gritaron con voz poderosa:
— Señor santo y veraz, ¿cuánto vas a tardar en hacernos justicia y vengar la muerte que nos dieron los que habitan tierra?
11 Recibió entonces cada uno una túnica blanca, mientras les decían:
— Esperen todavía un poco hasta que se complete el número de sus compañeros y hermanos que han de morir como ustedes.
12 Vi cómo el Cordero rompía el sexto sello. Se produjo entonces un formidable terremoto; el sol se oscureció como si se vistiera de luto; la luna se volvió completamente como sangre; 13 las estrellas del cielo cayeron sobre la tierra, como frutos aún verdes sacudidos por un viento impetuoso; 14 el cielo se replegó sobre sí mismo como un pergamino que se enrolla, y todos los montes y las islas sintieron estremecerse sus cimientos. 15 Entonces, los reyes de la tierra, los nobles, los generales, los ricos, los poderosos, todos absolutamente, esclavos y libres, se escondieron en las cuevas y entre las peñas de los montes, 16 diciendo a cumbres y peñascos:
— Caigan sobre nosotros; ocúltennos para que no nos vea el que está sentado en el trono, para que no dé con nosotros la ira del Cordero. 17 Porque ha llegado el gran día de su ira, y ¿quién podrá resistir en pie?

The Seals
6 I watched as the Lamb(A) opened the first of the seven seals.(B) Then I heard one of the four living creatures(C) say in a voice like thunder,(D) “Come!” 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse!(E) Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown,(F) and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.(G)
3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature(H) say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one.(I) Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth(J) and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.
5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature(K) say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse!(L) Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures,(M) saying, “Two pounds[a] of wheat for a day’s wages,[b] and six pounds[c] of barley for a day’s wages,[d](N) and do not damage(O) the oil and the wine!”
7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature(P) say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse!(Q) Its rider was named Death, and Hades(R) was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.(S)
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under(T) the altar(U) the souls of those who had been slain(V) because of the word of God(W) and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long,(X) Sovereign Lord,(Y) holy and true,(Z) until you judge the inhabitants of the earth(AA) and avenge our blood?”(AB) 11 Then each of them was given a white robe,(AC) and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,[e] were killed just as they had been.(AD)
12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake.(AE) The sun turned black(AF) like sackcloth(AG) made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth,(AH) as figs drop from a fig tree(AI) when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up,(AJ) and every mountain and island was removed from its place.(AK)
15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free,(AL) hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.(AM) 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us(AN) and hide us[f] from the face of him who sits on the throne(AO) and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day(AP) of their[g] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”(AQ)

6 Tôi nhìn trong khi Chiên Con mở ấn đầu tiên trong bảy ấn. Tôi nghe một trong bốn con vật nói vang rền như tiếng sấm, “Hãy đến đây!” 2 Tôi nhìn thì trước mặt tôi có một con ngựa bạch. Người cỡi ngựa cầm một cây cung và được trao cho một mão miện, rồi thúc ngựa đi như người đã đắc thắng và đi ra để chiến thắng.
3 Khi Chiên Con mở ấn thứ nhì, tôi nghe con vật thứ hai nói, “Hãy đến đây!” 4 Rồi một con ngựa hồng xuất hiện. Người cỡi ngựa được ban quyền cướp lấy sự hòa bình trên thế gian để người ta chém giết nhau. Người được trao cho một cây gươm lớn.
5 Khi Chiên Con mở ấn thứ ba, tôi nghe con vật thứ ba nói, “Hãy đến!” Tôi nhìn thì thấy một con ngựa ô trước mặt, người cỡi ngựa cầm trong tay một cái cân. 6 Rồi tôi nghe như có tiếng phát ra từ giữa bốn con vật. Tiếng ấy nói rằng, “Một lít [a] lúa mì đổi một ngày công, ba lít lúa mạch đổi một ngày công, còn dầu ô liu và rượu thì đừng làm hư!”
7 Khi Chiên Con mở ấn thứ tư, tôi nghe con vật thứ tư nói, “Hãy đến đây!” 8 Tôi nhìn thì trước mặt tôi có con ngựa xanh tái. Người cỡi ngựa tên là sự chết và Ha-đe đi theo sau. Chúng được trao quyền trên một phần tư địa cầu để gây chết chóc bằng chiến tranh, đói kém, dịch hạch và bằng các thú dữ trên đất.
9 Khi Chiên Con mở ấn thứ năm, tôi thấy dưới bàn thờ, có các oan hồn của những người bị giết vì lời làm chứng của họ và vì trung tín với lời Thượng Đế. 10 Các oan hồn đó kêu la, “Lạy Chúa thánh và chân thật, chừng nào Ngài mới xét xử những người trên đất và trừng phạt họ về tội giết chúng con?” 11 Rồi mỗi người trong vòng họ được cấp cho một áo dài trắng và dặn phải chờ thêm ít lâu nữa vì có những đầy tớ và các anh chị em khác phục vụ Chúa Cứu Thế cũng sẽ bị giết như họ vậy. Họ phải chờ cho đến khi những chuyện ấy xảy ra xong xuôi.
12 Tôi nhìn, khi Chiên Con mở ấn thứ sáu thì có cơn động đất dữ dội. Mặt trời trở nên tối sầm lại như tấm vải sô [b] đen còn mặt trăng hóa đỏ như máu. 13 Các ngôi sao trên trời rụng xuống đất như trái vả rơi khỏi cành khi gió thổi. 14 Bầu trời biến mất như quyển sách cuốn lại còn núi non và hải đảo cũng dời chỗ.
15 Lúc ấy các vua chúa trên đất, các bậc cầm quyền, các tướng lãnh, các bậc giàu sang, quyền thế, các kẻ nô lệ và tự do đều ẩn trốn trong hang hốc và kẽ đá trên núi. 16 Họ kêu la cùng núi và đá rằng, “Hãy rơi trên chúng ta. Hãy che chúng ta khỏi mặt Đấng ngồi trên ngôi và khỏi cơn giận của Chiên Con! 17 Vì ngày thịnh nộ lớn đã đến, ai có thể chịu nổi?”

6 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
