Los sellos
6 Entonces vi que el Cordero rompió uno de los sellos, y oí que uno de los cuatro seres vivientes me decía con voz de trueno: «¡Ven!» 2 Yo miré, y vi un caballo blanco.(A) El que lo montaba tenía un arco, y le fue dada una corona, y salió para vencer y seguir venciendo.
3 Abrió entonces el segundo sello, y oí al segundo ser viviente decirme: «¡Ven!» 4 Salió entonces otro caballo, éste de color rojo,(B) y al que lo montaba se le dio una gran espada, junto con el poder de adueñarse de la paz de la tierra y de hacer que los hombres se mataran unos a otros.
5 El Cordero rompió el tercer sello, y entonces oí que el tercer ser viviente me decía: «¡Ven!» Vi entonces aparecer un caballo negro,(C) y el que lo montaba llevaba en la mano una balanza. 6 En medio de los cuatro seres vivientes, oí una voz que decía: «¡Un kilo de trigo, o tres kilos de cebada, por el salario de un día! ¡Pero no seas injusto con el aceite ni con el vino!»
7 Al abrir el Cordero el cuarto sello, oí la voz del cuarto ser viviente, que me decía: «¡Ven!» 8 Yo miré, y vi aparecer un caballo descolorido, y el que lo montaba se llamaba Muerte. Tras él venía el Infierno. Recibió poder sobre la cuarta parte de la tierra, para matar con guerras, hambre y mortandad, y con las fieras de la tierra.(D)
9 Al abrir el Cordero el quinto sello, debajo del altar vi a las almas de los que habían muerto por causa de la palabra de Dios y de su testimonio. 10 A gran voz decían: «Señor santo y verdadero, ¿hasta cuándo seguirás sin juzgar a los habitantes de la tierra y sin vengar nuestra sangre? 11 Entonces se les dieron vestiduras blancas, y se les dijo que descansaran todavía un poco más de tiempo, hasta que se completara el número de sus consiervos y hermanos, que también sufrirían la muerte como ellos.
12 Yo vi cuando el Cordero abrió el sexto sello, y entonces se produjo un gran terremoto.(E) El sol se cubrió de oscuridad, como con un vestido de luto, y la luna entera se puso roja como la sangre; 13 las estrellas del cielo cayeron sobre la tierra,(F) como caen los higos cuando un fuerte viento sacude la higuera. 14 El cielo se esfumó, como si fuera un pergamino que se enrolla,(G) y todos los montes y las islas fueron removidas de su lugar.(H) 15 Todos se escondieron en las cuevas y entre las grietas de los montes:(I) lo mismo los reyes de la tierra que los príncipes, los ricos, los capitanes y los poderosos; lo mismo los esclavos que los libres; 16 y decían a los montes y a las peñas: «¡Caigan sobre nosotros! ¡No dejen que nos mire(J) el que está sentado sobre el trono! ¡Escóndannos de la ira del Cordero! 17 El gran día de su ira ha llegado; ¿y quién podrá mantenerse en pie?»(K)

First Seal: The Conqueror
6 Now (A)I saw when the Lamb opened one of the [a]seals; and I heard (B)one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2 And I looked, and behold, (C)a white horse. (D)He who sat on it had a bow; (E)and a crown was given to him, and he went out (F)conquering and to conquer.
Second Seal: Conflict on Earth
3 When He opened the second seal, (G)I heard the second living creature saying, “Come [b]and see.” 4 (H)Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to (I)take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.
Third Seal: Scarcity on Earth
5 When He opened the third seal, (J)I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, (K)a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of (L)scales[c] in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A [d]quart of wheat for a [e]denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and (M)do not harm the oil and the wine.”
Fourth Seal: Widespread Death on Earth
7 When He opened the fourth seal, (N)I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” 8 (O)So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And [f]power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, (P)to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, (Q)and by the beasts of the earth.
Fifth Seal: The Cry of the Martyrs
9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under (R)the altar (S)the souls of those who had been slain (T)for the word of God and for (U)the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, (V)“How long, O Lord, (W)holy and true, (X)until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then a (Y)white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them (Z)that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.
Sixth Seal: Cosmic Disturbances
12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, (AA)and [g]behold, there was a great earthquake; and (AB)the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the [h]moon became like blood. 13 (AC)And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 (AD)Then the sky [i]receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and (AE)every mountain and island was moved out of its place. 15 And the (AF)kings of the earth, the great men, [j]the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, (AG)hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 (AH)and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who (AI)sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, (AJ)and who is able to stand?”
