2 »Escribe al ángel[a] de la iglesia de Éfeso:
Esto dice el que tiene las siete estrellas en su mano derecha y se pasea en medio de los siete candelabros de oro: 2 Conozco tus obras, tu duro trabajo y tu perseverancia. Sé que no puedes soportar a los malvados, y que has puesto a prueba a los que dicen ser apóstoles, pero no lo son; y has descubierto que son falsos. 3 Has perseverado y sufrido por mi nombre, sin desanimarte.
4 Sin embargo, tengo contra ti que has abandonado tu primer amor. 5 ¡Recuerda de dónde has caído! Arrepiéntete y vuelve a practicar las obras que hacías al principio. Si no te arrepientes, iré y quitaré de su lugar tu candelabro. 6 Pero tienes a tu favor que aborreces las prácticas de los nicolaítas, las cuales yo también aborrezco.
7 El que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al que salga vencedor le daré derecho a comer del árbol de la vida, que está en el paraíso de Dios.
A la iglesia de Esmirna
8 »Escribe al ángel de la iglesia de Esmirna:
Esto dice el Primero y el Último, el que murió y volvió a vivir: 9 Conozco tus sufrimientos y tu pobreza. ¡Sin embargo, eres rico! Sé cómo te calumnian los que dicen ser judíos, pero que, en realidad, no son más que una sinagoga de Satanás. 10 No tengas miedo de lo que vas a sufrir. Te advierto que a algunos de vosotros el diablo os meterá en la cárcel para poneros a prueba, y sufriréis persecución durante diez días. Sé fiel hasta la muerte, y yo te daré la corona de la vida.
11 El que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. El que salga vencedor no sufrirá daño alguno de la segunda muerte.
A la iglesia de Pérgamo
12 »Escribe al ángel de la iglesia de Pérgamo:
Esto dice el que tiene la aguda espada de dos filos: 13 Sé dónde vives: allí donde Satanás tiene su trono. Sin embargo, sigues fiel a mi nombre. No renegaste de tu fe en mí, ni siquiera en los días en que Antipas, mi testigo fiel, sufrió la muerte en esa ciudad donde vive Satanás.
14 No obstante, tengo unas cuantas cosas en tu contra: que toleras ahí a los que se aferran a la doctrina de Balán, el que enseñó a Balac a poner tropiezos a los israelitas, incitándolos a comer alimentos sacrificados a los ídolos y a cometer inmoralidades sexuales. 15 Toleras así mismo a los que sostienen la doctrina de los nicolaítas. 16 Por lo tanto, ¡arrepiéntete! De otra manera, iré pronto a ti para pelear contra ellos con la espada que sale de mi boca.
17 El que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al que salga vencedor le daré del maná escondido, y le daré también una piedrecita blanca en la que está escrito un nombre nuevo que solo conoce el que lo recibe.
A la iglesia de Tiatira
18 »Escribe al ángel de la iglesia de Tiatira:
Esto dice el Hijo de Dios, el que tiene ojos que resplandecen como llamas de fuego y pies que parecen bronce al rojo vivo: 19 Conozco tus obras, tu amor y tu fe, tu servicio y tu perseverancia, y sé que tus últimas obras son más abundantes que las primeras.
20 Sin embargo, tengo en tu contra que toleras a Jezabel, esa mujer que dice ser profetisa. Con su enseñanza engaña a mis siervos, pues los induce a cometer inmoralidades sexuales y a comer alimentos sacrificados a los ídolos. 21 Le he dado tiempo para que se arrepienta de su inmoralidad, pero no quiere hacerlo. 22 Por eso la voy a postrar en un lecho de dolor, y a los que cometen adulterio con ella los haré sufrir terriblemente, a menos que se arrepientan de lo que aprendieron de ella. 23 A los hijos de esa mujer los heriré de muerte. Así sabrán todas las iglesias que yo soy el que escudriña la mente y el corazón; y a cada uno de vosotros os trataré de acuerdo con vuestras obras. 24 Ahora, al resto de los que están en Tiatira, es decir, a vosotros que no seguís esa enseñanza ni habéis aprendido los mal llamados “profundos secretos de Satanás”, os digo que ya no os impondré ninguna otra carga. 25 Eso sí, retened con firmeza lo que ya tenéis, hasta que yo venga.
26 Al que salga vencedor y cumpla mi voluntad[b] hasta el fin, le daré autoridad sobre las naciones 27 —así como yo la he recibido de mi Padre— y
28 También le daré la estrella de la mañana. 29 El que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias.

The Loveless Church
2 “To the [a]angel of the church of Ephesus write,
‘These things says (A)He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, (B)who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2 (C)“I know your works, your labor, your [b]patience, and that you cannot [c]bear those who are evil. And (D)you have tested those (E)who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have (F)not become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, (G)or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. 6 But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 (H)“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give (I)to eat from (J)the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” ’
The Persecuted Church
8 “And to the [d]angel of the church in Smyrna write,
‘These things says (K)the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: 9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are (L)rich); and I know the blasphemy of (M)those who say they are Jews and are not, (N)but are a [e]synagogue of Satan. 10 (O)Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. (P)Be faithful until death, and I will give you (Q)the crown of life.
11 (R)“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by (S)the second death.” ’
The Compromising Church
12 “And to the [f]angel of the church in Pergamos write,
‘These things says (T)He who has the sharp two-edged sword: 13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of (U)Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, (V)to eat things sacrificed to idols, (W)and to commit sexual immorality. 15 Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, [g]which thing I hate. 16 Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and (X)will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden (Y)manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone (Z)a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’
The Corrupt Church
18 “And to the [h]angel of the church in Thyatira write,
‘These things says the Son of God, (AA)who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: 19 (AB)“I know your works, love, [i]service, faith, and your [j]patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have [k]a few things against you, because you allow [l]that woman (AC)Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, [m]to teach and seduce My servants (AD)to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time (AE)to [n]repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of [o]their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who (AF)searches[p] the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
24 “Now to you I say, [q]and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the (AG)depths of Satan, as they say, (AH)I [r]will put on you no other burden. 25 But hold fast (AI)what you have till I come. 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps (AJ)My works until the end, (AK)to him I will give power over the nations—
27 ‘He(AL) shall rule them with a rod of iron;
They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—
as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him (AM)the morning star.
29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’

2 (C)“‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but (D)have tested those (E)who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. 3 I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up (F)for my name's sake, and you (G)have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned (H)the love you had at first. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do (I)the works you did at first. If not, (J)I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. 6 Yet this you have: you hate the works of (K)the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 (L)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. 19 (AU)“‘I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first. 20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman (AV)Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants (AW)to practice sexual immorality and (AX)to eat food sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her time to repent, but (AY)she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. 22 Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, 23 and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he (AZ)who searches mind and heart, and (BA)I will give to each of you according to your works. 24 But to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not learned what some call (BB)the deep things of Satan, to you I say, I (BC)do not lay on you any other burden. 25 Only hold fast (BD)what you have until I come. 26 (BE)The one who conquers and who keeps my works (BF)until the end, (BG)to him I will give authority over the nations, 27 and (BH)he will (BI)rule[c] them with a rod of iron, (BJ)as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father. 28 And I will give him (BK)the morning star. 29 (BL)He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’
