21 Un ángel poderoso levantó entonces un gran peñasco, como una gigantesca rueda de molino, y lo arrojó al mar, exclamando:
— Así, violentamente, será arrojada
Babilonia, la gran ciudad,
y nunca más se sabrá de ella.
22 Ya no se volverá a escuchar en ti
el son de los arpistas y los músicos,
el son de los que tocan
la flauta y la trompeta.
Ya no habrá en ti artesanos
ni se oirá el rumor
de la rueda molinera.
23 La luz de la lámpara
no alumbrará más en ti,
ni volverán a oírse en tus calles
los cantos del novio y de la novia.
Y es que tus traficantes
llegaron a ser los grandes de la tierra
y con tus sortilegios
engañaste a todas las naciones.

21 Y un ángel poderoso tomó una piedra, como una gran piedra de molino, y la arrojó en el mar, diciendo: Con el mismo ímpetu será derribada Babilonia,(A) la gran ciudad, y nunca más será hallada.(B) 22 Y voz de arpistas, de músicos, de flautistas y de trompeteros no se oirá más en ti;(C) y ningún artífice de oficio alguno se hallará más en ti, ni ruido de molino se oirá más en ti. 23 Luz de lámpara no alumbrará más en ti, ni voz de esposo y de esposa se oirá más en ti;(D) porque tus mercaderes eran los grandes de la tierra; pues por tus hechicerías fueron engañadas todas las naciones.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
