Las primeras seis plagas
16 Oí entonces una voz poderosa que desde el Templo ordenaba a los siete ángeles:
— Id a derramar sobre la tierra las siete copas de la ira de Dios.
2 Partió el primer ángel, derramó su copa sobre la tierra y llagas repugnantes y dolorosas se abatieron sobre los que estaban tatuados con la marca de la bestia y adoraban su imagen.
3 El segundo ángel derramó su copa sobre el mar, que se convirtió en sangre de cadáver; y todo aliento de vida marina pereció.
4 El tercer ángel derramó su copa sobre los ríos y los manantiales, que también se convirtieron en sangre. 5 Y oí que el ángel de las aguas decía:
— Eres justo y has hecho justicia,
tú que eres santo
y que existes desde siempre.
6 Ellos derramaron la sangre
de tus consagrados y profetas
y sangre les has dado tú a beber.
¡Bien merecido lo tienen!
7 Oí también que alguien decía desde el altar:
— Efectivamente, Señor Dios, dueño de todo,
tú juzgas con verdad y con justicia.
8 El cuarto ángel derramó su copa sobre el sol y se le concedió abrasar a los humanos. 9 Todos quedaron horriblemente calcinados; pero aun así, blasfemaban y se negaron a convertirse y a reconocer la grandeza de Dios, quien tiene en su mano tales calamidades.
10 El quinto ángel derramó su copa sobre el trono de la bestia, y su reino quedó sumido en tinieblas. 11 En el paroxismo del dolor y acosada por sus llagas, la gente se mordía la lengua y renegaba del Dios del cielo; pero siguió sin convertirse.
12 El sexto ángel derramó su copa sobre el gran río Éufrates. El agua del río se secó y el cauce quedó convertido en camino para los reyes procedentes del este. 13 Y vi cómo de la boca del dragón, de la boca de la bestia y de la boca del falso profeta salían tres espíritus inmundos que parecían sapos. 14 Se trataba de espíritus diabólicos que realizaban prodigios y pretendían reunir a todos los poderosos del mundo con vistas a la batalla del gran día de Dios, el dueño de todo.
15 “Mirad que llego como un ladrón. ¡Dichoso el que se mantenga vestido y vigilante! No tendrá que andar desnudo, y nadie verá sus vergüenzas”. 16 Y reunieron a los reyes en el lugar llamado en hebreo Harmagedón.
La séptima copa
17 El séptimo ángel derramó, finalmente, su copa en el aire, y una voz poderosa procedente del Templo, de junto al trono mismo, clamó:
— ¡Hecho está!
18 Hubo entonces relámpagos y truenos fragorosos, y un terremoto tan formidable como jamás se dio desde que el mundo es mundo. 19 La gran ciudad se partió en tres; se desmoronaron las restantes ciudades del mundo, y Dios se acordó de la orgullosa Babilonia para hacerle apurar hasta las heces la copa de su terrible indignación. 20 Desaparecieron todas las islas, y de los montes nunca más se supo. 21 Una tromba de granizos descomunales se abatió desde el cielo sobre la gente que, a pesar de todo y más todavía a causa del azote del granizo, terrible sobremanera, siguió blasfemando contra Dios.

Las copas de ira
16 Oí una gran voz que decía desde el templo a los siete ángeles: Id y derramad sobre la tierra las siete copas de la ira de Dios.
2 Fue el primero, y derramó su copa sobre la tierra, y vino una úlcera maligna y pestilente(A) sobre los hombres que tenían la marca de la bestia, y que adoraban su imagen.
3 El segundo ángel derramó su copa sobre el mar, y este se convirtió en sangre como de muerto; y murió todo ser vivo que había en el mar.
4 El tercer ángel derramó su copa sobre los ríos, y sobre las fuentes de las aguas, y se convirtieron en sangre.(B) 5 Y oí al ángel de las aguas, que decía: Justo eres tú, oh Señor, el que eres y que eras, el Santo, porque has juzgado estas cosas. 6 Por cuanto derramaron la sangre de los santos y de los profetas, también tú les has dado a beber sangre; pues lo merecen. 7 También oí a otro, que desde el altar decía: Ciertamente, Señor Dios Todopoderoso, tus juicios son verdaderos y justos.
8 El cuarto ángel derramó su copa sobre el sol, al cual fue dado quemar a los hombres con fuego. 9 Y los hombres se quemaron con el gran calor, y blasfemaron el nombre de Dios, que tiene poder sobre estas plagas, y no se arrepintieron para darle gloria.
10 El quinto ángel derramó su copa sobre el trono de la bestia; y su reino se cubrió de tinieblas,(C) y mordían de dolor sus lenguas, 11 y blasfemaron contra el Dios del cielo por sus dolores y por sus úlceras, y no se arrepintieron de sus obras.
12 El sexto ángel derramó su copa sobre el gran río Éufrates; y el agua de este se secó, para que estuviese preparado el camino a los reyes del oriente.(D) 13 Y vi salir de la boca del dragón, y de la boca de la bestia, y de la boca del falso profeta, tres espíritus inmundos a manera de ranas; 14 pues son espíritus de demonios, que hacen señales, y van a los reyes de la tierra en todo el mundo, para reunirlos a la batalla de aquel gran día del Dios Todopoderoso. 15 He aquí, yo vengo como ladrón.(E) Bienaventurado el que vela, y guarda sus ropas, para que no ande desnudo, y vean su vergüenza. 16 Y los reunió en el lugar que en hebreo se llama Armagedón.(F)
17 El séptimo ángel derramó su copa por el aire; y salió una gran voz del templo del cielo, del trono, diciendo: Hecho está. 18 Entonces hubo relámpagos y voces y truenos, y un gran temblor de tierra, un terremoto(G) tan grande, cual no lo hubo jamás desde que los hombres han estado sobre la tierra. 19 Y la gran ciudad fue dividida en tres partes, y las ciudades de las naciones cayeron; y la gran Babilonia vino en memoria delante de Dios, para darle el cáliz del vino del ardor de su ira.(H) 20 Y toda isla huyó, y los montes no fueron hallados.(I) 21 Y cayó del cielo sobre los hombres un enorme granizo(J) como del peso de un talento; y los hombres blasfemaron contra Dios por la plaga del granizo; porque su plaga fue sobremanera grande.

The Seven Bowls
16 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying (A)to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the [a]bowls (B)of the wrath of God on the earth.”
First Bowl: Loathsome Sores
2 So the first went and poured out his bowl (C)upon the earth, and a [b]foul and (D)loathsome sore came upon the men (E)who had the mark of the beast and those (F)who worshiped his image.
Second Bowl: The Sea Turns to Blood
3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl (G)on the sea, and (H)it became blood as of a dead man; (I)and every living creature in the sea died.
Third Bowl: The Waters Turn to Blood
4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl (J)on the rivers and springs of water, (K)and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying:
(L)“You are righteous, [c]O Lord,
The One (M)who is and who [d]was and who is to be,
Because You have judged these things.
6 For (N)they have shed the blood (O)of saints and prophets,
(P)And You have given them blood to drink.
[e]For it is their just due.”
7 And I heard [f]another from the altar saying, “Even so, (Q)Lord God Almighty, (R)true and righteous are Your judgments.”
Fourth Bowl: Men Are Scorched
8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl (S)on the sun, (T)and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they (U)blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; (V)and they did not repent (W)and give Him glory.
Fifth Bowl: Darkness and Pain
10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl (X)on the throne of the beast, (Y)and his kingdom became full of darkness; (Z)and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their deeds.
Sixth Bowl: Euphrates Dried Up
12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl (AA)on the great river Euphrates, (AB)and its water was dried up, (AC)so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean (AD)spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of (AE)the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of (AF)the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, (AG)performing signs, which go out to the kings [g]of the earth and of (AH)the whole world, to gather them to (AI)the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 (AJ)“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, (AK)lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
16 (AL)And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, [h]Armageddon.
Seventh Bowl: The Earth Utterly Shaken
17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, (AM)“It is done!” 18 And (AN)there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; (AO)and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake (AP)as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now (AQ)the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And (AR)great Babylon (AS)was remembered before God, (AT)to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then (AU)every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.
