Las dos bestias
13 Me paré sobre la arena del mar y vi subir del mar una bestia que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos: en sus cuernos tenía diez diademas, y sobre sus cabezas, nombres de blasfemia. 2 La bestia que vi era semejante a un leopardo, sus pies eran como de oso y su boca como boca de león. El dragón le dio su poder, su trono y gran autoridad. 3 Vi una de sus cabezas como herida de muerte, pero su herida mortal fue sanada. Toda la tierra se maravilló en pos de la bestia, 4 y adoraron al dragón que había dado autoridad a la bestia, y adoraron a la bestia, diciendo: «¿Quién como la bestia y quién podrá luchar contra ella?»
5 También se le dio boca que hablaba arrogancias y blasfemias, y se le dio autoridad para actuar por cuarenta y dos meses. 6 Y abrió su boca para blasfemar contra Dios, para blasfemar de su nombre, de su tabernáculo y de los que habitan en el cielo. 7 Se le permitió hacer guerra contra los santos, y vencerlos. También se le dio autoridad sobre toda tribu, pueblo, lengua y nación. 8 La adoraron todos los habitantes de la tierra cuyos nombres no estaban escritos desde el principio del mundo en el libro de la vida del Cordero que fue inmolado. 9 Si alguno tiene oído, oiga:
10 «Si alguno lleva en cautividad,
a cautividad irá.
Si alguno mata a espada,
a espada será muerto.»
Aquí está la perseverancia y la fe de los santos.
11 Después vi otra bestia que subía de la tierra. Tenía dos cuernos semejantes a los de un cordero, pero hablaba como un dragón. 12 Ejerce toda la autoridad de la primera bestia en presencia de ella, y hace que la tierra y sus habitantes adoren a la primera bestia, cuya herida mortal fue sanada. 13 También hace grandes señales, de tal manera que incluso hace descender fuego del cielo a la tierra delante de los hombres. 14 Engaña a los habitantes de la tierra con las señales que se le ha permitido hacer en presencia de la bestia, diciendo a los habitantes de la tierra que le hagan una imagen a la bestia que fue herida de espada y revivió. 15 Se le permitió infundir aliento a la imagen de la bestia, para que la imagen hablara e hiciera matar a todo el que no la adorara. 16 Y hacía que a todos, pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se les pusiera una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente, 17 y que ninguno pudiera comprar ni vender, sino el que tuviera la marca o el nombre de la bestia o el número de su nombre.
18 Aquí hay sabiduría. El que tiene entendimiento cuente el número de la bestia, pues es número de hombre. Y su número es seiscientos sesenta y seis.

La bestia que surge del mar
Entonces vi que del mar subía una bestia, la cual tenía diez cuernos y siete cabezas. En cada cuerno tenía una diadema y en cada cabeza un nombre blasfemo contra Dios. 2 La bestia parecía un leopardo, pero tenía patas como de oso y fauces como de león. El dragón le confirió a la bestia su poder, su trono y gran autoridad. 3 Una de las cabezas de la bestia parecía haber sufrido una herida mortal, pero esa herida ya había sido sanada. El mundo entero, fascinado, iba tras la bestia 4 y adoraba al dragón porque había dado su autoridad a la bestia. También adoraban a la bestia y decían: «¿Quién como la bestia? ¿Quién puede combatirla?».
5 A la bestia se le permitió hablar con arrogancia y proferir blasfemias contra Dios; además, se le confirió autoridad para actuar durante cuarenta y dos meses. 6 Abrió la boca para blasfemar contra Dios, para maldecir su nombre y su santuario y a los que viven en el cielo. 7 También se le permitió hacer la guerra a los creyentes y vencerlos y se le dio autoridad sobre toda tribu, pueblo, lengua y nación. 8 A la bestia la adorarán todos los habitantes de la tierra, aquellos cuyos nombres no han sido escritos en el libro de la vida, el libro del Cordero que fue sacrificado desde la creación del mundo.[b]
9 El que tenga oídos, que oiga.
10 El que deba ser llevado cautivo,
a la cautividad irá.
El que deba morir[c] a espada,
a filo de espada morirá.
¡En esto consisten[d] la perseverancia y la fidelidad de los creyentes!
La bestia que sube de la tierra
11 Después vi que de la tierra subía otra bestia. Tenía dos cuernos como de cordero, pero hablaba como dragón. 12 Ejercía toda la autoridad de la primera bestia en presencia de ella y hacía que la tierra y sus habitantes adoraran a la primera bestia, cuya herida mortal había sido sanada. 13 También hacía grandes señales, incluso la de hacer caer fuego del cielo a la tierra, a la vista de todos. 14 Con estas señales que se le permitió hacer en presencia de la primera bestia, engañó a los habitantes de la tierra. Ordenó que hicieran una imagen en honor de la bestia que, después de ser herida a espada, revivió. 15 Se le permitió infundir vida a la imagen de la primera bestia, para que hablara y mandara matar a quienes no adoraran la imagen. 16 Además logró que a todos, grandes y pequeños, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se les pusiera una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente, 17 para que nadie pudiera comprar ni vender, a menos que llevara la marca que es el nombre de la bestia o el número de ese nombre.
18 En esto consiste[e] la sabiduría: el que tenga entendimiento, calcule el número de la bestia, pues es número de un ser humano: seiscientos sesenta y seis.

The Beast out of the Sea
13 The dragon[a] stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea.(A) It had ten horns and seven heads,(B) with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.(C) 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard,(D) but had feet like those of a bear(E) and a mouth like that of a lion.(F) The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority.(G) 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed.(H) The whole world was filled with wonder(I) and followed the beast. 4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like(J) the beast? Who can wage war against it?”
5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies(K) and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.(L) 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.(M) 7 It was given power to wage war(N) against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.(O) 8 All inhabitants of the earth(P) will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,(Q) the Lamb(R) who was slain from the creation of the world.[b](S)
9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.(T)
10 “If anyone is to go into captivity,
into captivity they will go.
If anyone is to be killed[c] with the sword,
with the sword they will be killed.”[d](U)
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness(V) on the part of God’s people.(W)
The Beast out of the Earth
11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth.(X) It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.(Y) 12 It exercised all the authority(Z) of the first beast on its behalf,(AA) and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast,(AB) whose fatal wound had been healed.(AC) 13 And it performed great signs,(AD) even causing fire to come down from heaven(AE) to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs(AF) it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived(AG) the inhabitants of the earth.(AH) It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.(AI) 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship(AJ) the image to be killed.(AK) 16 It also forced all people, great and small,(AL) rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,(AM) 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark,(AN) which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.(AO)
18 This calls for wisdom.(AP) Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[e](AQ) That number is 666.

2 και το θηριον ο ειδον ην ομοιον παρδαλει και οι ποδες αυτου ως αρκου και το στομα αυτου ως στομα λεοντος και εδωκεν αυτω ο δρακων την δυναμιν αυτου και τον θρονον αυτου και εξουσιαν μεγαλην
3 και μιαν εκ των κεφαλων αυτου ως εσφαγμενην εις θανατον και η πληγη του θανατου αυτου εθεραπευθη και εθαυμασθη ολη η γη οπισω του θηριου
4 και προσεκυνησαν τω δρακοντι οτι εδωκεν την εξουσιαν τω θηριω και προσεκυνησαν τω θηριω λεγοντες τις ομοιος τω θηριω και τις δυναται πολεμησαι μετ αυτου
5 και εδοθη αυτω στομα λαλουν μεγαλα και βλασφημιας και εδοθη αυτω εξουσια ποιησαι μηνας τεσσερακοντα [και] δυο
6 και ηνοιξεν το στομα αυτου εις βλασφημιας προς τον θεον βλασφημησαι το ονομα αυτου και την σκηνην αυτου τους εν τω ουρανω σκηνουντας
7 [και εδοθη αυτω ποιησαι πολεμον μετα των αγιων και νικησαι αυτους] και εδοθη αυτω εξουσια επι πασαν φυλην και λαον και γλωσσαν και εθνος
8 και προσκυνησουσιν αυτον παντες οι κατοικουντες επι της γης ου ου γεγραπται το ονομα αυτου εν τω βιβλιω της ζωης του αρνιου του εσφαγμενου απο καταβολης κοσμου
9 ει τις εχει ους ακουσατω
10 ει τις εις αιχμαλωσιαν εις αιχμαλωσιαν υπαγει ει τις εν μαχαιρη αποκτενει δει αυτον εν μαχαιρη αποκτανθηναι ωδε εστιν η υπομονη και η πιστις των αγιων
11 και ειδον αλλο θηριον αναβαινον εκ της γης και ειχεν κερατα δυο ομοια αρνιω και ελαλει ως δρακων
12 και την εξουσιαν του πρωτου θηριου πασαν ποιει ενωπιον αυτου και ποιει την γην και τους εν αυτη κατοικουντας ινα προσκυνησουσιν το θηριον το πρωτον ου εθεραπευθη η πληγη του θανατου αυτου
13 και ποιει σημεια μεγαλα ινα και πυρ ποιη εκ του ουρανου καταβαινειν εις την γην ενωπιον των ανθρωπων
14 και πλανα τους κατοικουντας επι της γης δια τα σημεια α εδοθη αυτω ποιησαι ενωπιον του θηριου λεγων τοις κατοικουσιν επι της γης ποιησαι εικονα τω θηριω ος εχει την πληγην της μαχαιρης και εζησεν
15 και εδοθη αυτη δουναι πνευμα τη εικονι του θηριου ινα και λαληση η εικων του θηριου και ποιηση [ινα] οσοι εαν μη προσκυνησωσιν τη εικονι του θηριου αποκτανθωσιν
16 και ποιει παντας τους μικρους και τους μεγαλους και τους πλουσιους και τους πτωχους και τους ελευθερους και τους δουλους ινα δωσιν αυτοις χαραγμα επι της χειρος αυτων της δεξιας η επι το μετωπον αυτων
17 [και] ινα μη τις δυνηται αγορασαι η πωλησαι ει μη ο εχων το χαραγμα το ονομα του θηριου η τον αριθμον του ονοματος αυτου
