La mujer
12 Apareció en el cielo una gran señal: una mujer envuelta en el sol como en un vestido, con la luna bajo sus pies y una corona de doce estrellas en la cabeza. 2 La mujer estaba encinta, y gritaba por los dolores del parto, por el sufrimiento de dar a luz.
El dragón
3 Luego apareció en el cielo otra señal: un gran dragón rojo que tenía siete cabezas, diez cuernos y una corona en cada cabeza. 4 Con la cola arrastró la tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo, y las lanzó sobre la tierra. El dragón se detuvo delante de la mujer que iba a dar a luz, para devorar a su hijo tan pronto como naciera. 5 Y la mujer dio a luz un hijo varón, el cual ha de gobernar a todas las naciones con cetro de hierro. Pero su hijo le fue quitado y llevado ante Dios y ante su trono; 6 y la mujer huyó al desierto, donde Dios le había preparado un lugar para que allí le dieran de comer durante mil doscientos sesenta días.
7 Después hubo una batalla en el cielo: Miguel y sus ángeles lucharon contra el dragón. El dragón y sus ángeles pelearon, 8 pero no pudieron vencer, y ya no hubo lugar para ellos en el cielo. 9 Así que fue expulsado el gran dragón, aquella serpiente antigua que se llama Diablo y Satanás, y que engaña a todo el mundo. Él y sus ángeles fueron lanzados a la tierra.
10 Entonces oí una fuerte voz en el cielo, que decía:
«Ya llegó la salvación,
el poder y el reino de nuestro Dios,
y la autoridad de su Mesías;
porque ha sido expulsado
el acusador de nuestros hermanos,
el que día y noche los acusaba
delante de nuestro Dios.
11 Nuestros hermanos lo han vencido
con la sangre derramada del Cordero
y con el mensaje que ellos proclamaron;
no tuvieron miedo de perder la vida,
sino que estuvieron dispuestos a morir.
12 ¡Alégrense, pues, cielos,
y ustedes que viven en ellos!
¡Pero ay de los que viven en la tierra y en el mar,
porque el diablo, sabiendo que le queda poco tiempo,
ha bajado contra ustedes lleno de furor!»
13 Cuando el dragón se vio lanzado a la tierra, persiguió a la mujer que había tenido el hijo. 14 Pero a la mujer se le dieron dos grandes alas de águila, para que pudiera volar a su lugar en el desierto, lejos del dragón, donde tenían que darle de comer durante tres años y medio. 15 El dragón arrojó agua por la boca, para formar un río que arrastrara a la mujer; 16 pero la tierra ayudó a la mujer, pues abrió la boca y se tragó el río que el dragón había arrojado por su boca. 17 Con eso, el dragón se puso furioso contra la mujer, y fue a pelear contra el resto de los descendientes de ella, contra los que obedecen los mandamientos de Dios y siguen fieles al testimonio de Jesús. 18 Y el dragón se plantó a la orilla del mar.

12 Apareció en el cielo una gran señal: una mujer vestida del sol, con la luna debajo de sus pies, y sobre su cabeza una corona de doce estrellas.(A) 2 Y estando encinta, clamaba con dolores de parto, en la angustia del alumbramiento.(B) 3 También apareció otra señal en el cielo: he aquí un gran dragón escarlata, que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos,(C) y en sus cabezas siete diademas; 4 y su cola arrastraba la tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo, y las arrojó sobre la tierra.(D) Y el dragón se paró frente a la mujer que estaba para dar a luz, a fin de devorar a su hijo tan pronto como naciese. 5 Y ella dio a luz un hijo varón,(E) que regirá con vara de hierro a todas las naciones;(F) y su hijo fue arrebatado para Dios y para su trono. 6 Y la mujer huyó al desierto, donde tiene lugar preparado por Dios, para que allí la sustenten por mil doscientos sesenta días.
7 Después hubo una gran batalla en el cielo: Miguel(G) y sus ángeles luchaban contra el dragón; y luchaban el dragón y sus ángeles; 8 pero no prevalecieron, ni se halló ya lugar para ellos en el cielo. 9 Y fue lanzado fuera el gran dragón, la serpiente antigua,(H) que se llama diablo y Satanás, el cual engaña al mundo entero; fue arrojado a la tierra,(I) y sus ángeles fueron arrojados con él. 10 Entonces oí una gran voz en el cielo, que decía: Ahora ha venido la salvación, el poder, y el reino de nuestro Dios, y la autoridad de su Cristo; porque ha sido lanzado fuera el acusador de nuestros hermanos,(J) el que los acusaba delante de nuestro Dios día y noche. 11 Y ellos le han vencido por medio de la sangre del Cordero y de la palabra del testimonio de ellos, y menospreciaron sus vidas hasta la muerte. 12 Por lo cual alegraos, cielos, y los que moráis en ellos. ¡Ay de los moradores de la tierra y del mar! porque el diablo ha descendido a vosotros con gran ira, sabiendo que tiene poco tiempo.
13 Y cuando vio el dragón que había sido arrojado a la tierra, persiguió a la mujer que había dado a luz al hijo varón. 14 Y se le dieron a la mujer las dos alas de la gran águila, para que volase de delante de la serpiente al desierto, a su lugar, donde es sustentada por un tiempo, y tiempos, y la mitad de un tiempo.(K) 15 Y la serpiente arrojó de su boca, tras la mujer, agua como un río, para que fuese arrastrada por el río. 16 Pero la tierra ayudó a la mujer, pues la tierra abrió su boca y tragó el río que el dragón había echado de su boca. 17 Entonces el dragón se llenó de ira contra la mujer; y se fue a hacer guerra contra el resto de la descendencia de ella, los que guardan los mandamientos de Dios y tienen el testimonio de Jesucristo.

The Woman, the Child, and the Dragon
12 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. 2 Then being with child, she cried out (A)in labor and in pain to give birth.
3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, (B)a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 (C)His tail drew a third (D)of the stars of heaven (E)and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood (F)before the woman who was ready to give birth, (G)to devour her Child as soon as it was born. 5 She bore a male Child (H)who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was (I)caught up to God and His throne. 6 Then (J)the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there (K)one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
Satan Thrown Out of Heaven
7 And war broke out in heaven: (L)Michael and his angels fought (M)with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for [b]them in heaven any longer. 9 So (N)the great dragon was cast out, (O)that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, (P)who deceives the whole world; (Q)he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, (R)“Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, (S)who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And (T)they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, (U)and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore (V)rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! (W)Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, (X)because he knows that he has a short time.”
The Woman Persecuted
13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted (Y)the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14 (Z)But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, (AA)that she might fly (AB)into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished (AC)for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 So the serpent (AD)spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus [c]Christ.

The Red Dragon, Satan
3 Then (F)another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red (G)dragon having (H)seven heads and (I)ten horns, and on his heads were (J)seven crowns. 4 And his tail *swept away a (K)third of the stars of heaven and (L)hurled them to the earth. And the (M)dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth (N)he might devour her Child.
The Male Child, Christ
5 And (O)she gave birth to a Son, a male, who is going to [a](P)rule all the [b]nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was (Q)caught up to God and to His throne. 6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness where she *had a place prepared by God, so that there [c]she would be nourished for (R)1,260 days.
The Angel, Michael
7 And there was war in heaven, (S)Michael and his angels waging war with the (T)dragon. The dragon and (U)his angels waged war, 8 and they did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9 And the great (V)dragon was thrown down, the (W)serpent of old who is called the devil and (X)Satan, who (Y)deceives the whole [d]world; he was (Z)thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard (AA)a loud voice in heaven, saying,
“Now the (AB)salvation, and the power, and the (AC)kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the (AD)accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. 11 And they (AE)overcame him because of (AF)the blood of the Lamb and because of (AG)the word of their testimony, and they (AH)did not love their life even [e]when faced with death. 12 For this reason, (AI)rejoice, you heavens and (AJ)you who dwell in them. (AK)Woe to the earth and the sea, because (AL)the devil has come down to you with great wrath, knowing that he has only (AM)a short time.”
13 And when the (AN)dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted (AO)the woman who gave birth to the male Child. 14 But the (AP)two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly (AQ)into the wilderness to her place, where she *was nourished for (AR)a time, times, and half a time, away from the presence of the serpent. 15 And the (AS)serpent hurled water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 16 [f]But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon had hurled out of his mouth. 17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to (AT)make war with the rest of her [g](AU)children, who (AV)keep the commandments of God and (AW)hold to the testimony of Jesus.
