12 Pudo entonces verse una gran señal en el cielo: Apareció una mujer cuyo vestido era el sol. La luna estaba debajo de sus pies, y en su cabeza llevaba una corona con doce estrellas.(A) 2 Estaba encinta, y gritaba por los dolores de parto y por la angustia del alumbramiento.(B) 3 También pudo verse en el cielo otra señal: Apareció un gran dragón rojo, con siete cabezas y diez cuernos,(C) y con una diadema en cada cabeza. 4 Con su cola arrastró a la tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo, y las arrojó sobre la tierra.(D) Luego el dragón se colocó frente a la mujer que iba a dar a luz, para devorar a su hijo en cuanto naciera. 5 La mujer dio a luz un hijo varón,(E) el cual gobernará a todas las naciones con cetro de hierro.(F) Pero su hijo le fue arrebatado para Dios y su trono. 6 La mujer huyó entonces al desierto, a un lugar que Dios le había preparado, para que allí la alimentaran durante mil doscientos sesenta días.
7 Después hubo una batalla en el cielo: Miguel(G) y sus ángeles lucharon contra el dragón, y el dragón y sus ángeles también lucharon, 8 pero no pudieron vencer, y ya no hubo lugar para ellos en el cielo. 9 Así fue expulsado el gran dragón, que es la serpiente antigua(H) que se llama Diablo y Satanás, y que engaña a todo el mundo. Él y sus ángeles fueron arrojados a la tierra.(I) 10 Entonces oí una fuerte voz en el cielo, que decía:
«¡Aquí están ya la salvación y el poder
y el reino de nuestro Dios,
y la autoridad de su Cristo!
¡Ya ha sido expulsado el que día y noche
acusaba a nuestros hermanos(J)
delante de nuestro Dios!
11 Ellos lo vencieron por la sangre del Cordero
y por la palabra que ellos proclamaron;
siempre estuvieron preparados
a entregar sus vidas y morir.
12 ¡Alégrense por eso, ustedes los cielos!
¡Alégrense ustedes, que los habitan!
¡Pero ay de ustedes,
los que habitan la tierra y el mar!
El diablo ha llegado a ustedes lleno de ira,
porque sabe que le queda poco tiempo.»
13 Cuando el dragón se dio cuenta de que había sido arrojado a la tierra, persiguió a la mujer que había dado a luz al hijo varón. 14 Pero a la mujer se le dieron las dos alas de la gran águila para que volara a su lugar en el desierto, donde es alimentada por un tiempo, y tiempos, y la mitad de un tiempo,(K) para estar a salvo de la serpiente. 15 Entonces la serpiente arrojó mucha agua por la boca, para que la mujer fuera arrastrada como por un río. 16 Pero la tierra vino en su ayuda, pues abrió su boca y se tragó el río que el dragón había arrojado por su boca. 17 Entonces el dragón se llenó de ira contra la mujer y se fue a luchar contra el resto de sus descendientes, es decir, contra los que obedecen los mandamientos de Dios y tienen el testimonio de Jesucristo.

12 Apareció en el cielo una señal maravillosa: una mujer revestida del sol, con la luna debajo de sus pies y con una corona de doce estrellas en la cabeza. 2 Estaba embarazada y gritaba por los dolores y angustias del parto. 3 Y apareció en el cielo otra señal: un enorme dragón de color rojo encendido que tenía siete cabezas, diez cuernos y una diadema en cada cabeza. 4 Con la cola arrastró la tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo y las arrojó sobre la tierra. Cuando la mujer estaba a punto de dar a luz, el dragón se plantó delante de ella para devorar a su hijo tan pronto como naciera. 5 Ella dio a luz un hijo varón que «gobernará a todas las naciones con cetro de hierro».[a] Pero su hijo fue arrebatado y llevado hasta Dios, que está en su trono. 6 Y la mujer huyó al desierto, a un lugar que Dios le había preparado para que allí la sustentaran durante mil doscientos sesenta días.
7 Se desató entonces una guerra en el cielo: Miguel y sus ángeles combatieron al dragón; este y sus ángeles, a su vez, les hicieron frente, 8 pero no pudieron vencer y ya no hubo lugar para ellos en el cielo. 9 Así fue expulsado el gran dragón, aquella serpiente antigua que se llama Diablo y Satanás que engaña al mundo entero. Junto con sus ángeles, fue arrojado a la tierra.
10 Luego oí en el cielo un gran clamor:
«Han llegado ya la salvación y el poder y el reino de nuestro Dios;
ha llegado ya la autoridad de su Cristo.
Porque ha sido expulsado
el acusador de nuestros hermanos,
el que los acusaba día y noche delante de nuestro Dios.
11 Ellos lo han vencido
por medio de la sangre del Cordero
y por el mensaje del cual dieron testimonio;
no valoraron tanto su vida
como para evitar la muerte.
12 Por eso, ¡alégrense, cielos,
y ustedes que los habitan!
Pero ¡ay de la tierra y del mar!
El diablo, lleno de furor, ha descendido a ustedes,
porque sabe que le queda poco tiempo».
13 Cuando el dragón se vio arrojado a la tierra, persiguió a la mujer que había dado a luz al varón. 14 Pero a la mujer se le dieron las dos alas de la gran águila, para que volara al desierto, al lugar donde sería sustentada durante un tiempo y tiempos y medio tiempo, lejos de la vista de la serpiente. 15 La serpiente, persiguiendo a la mujer, arrojó por sus fauces agua como un río para que la corriente la arrastrara. 16 Pero la tierra ayudó a la mujer: abrió la boca y se tragó el río que el dragón había arrojado por sus fauces. 17 Entonces el dragón se enfureció contra la mujer y se fue a hacer guerra contra el resto de sus descendientes, los cuales obedecen los mandamientos de Dios y se mantienen fieles al testimonio de Jesús.

3 Luego apareció en el cielo otra señal: un gran dragón rojo que tenía siete cabezas, diez cuernos y una corona en cada cabeza. 4 Con la cola arrastró la tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo, y las lanzó sobre la tierra. El dragón se detuvo delante de la mujer que iba a dar a luz, para devorar a su hijo tan pronto como naciera. 5 Y la mujer dio a luz un hijo varón, el cual ha de gobernar a todas las naciones con cetro de hierro. Pero su hijo le fue quitado y llevado ante Dios y ante su trono; 6 y la mujer huyó al desierto, donde Dios le había preparado un lugar para que allí le dieran de comer durante mil doscientos sesenta días.

el que día y noche los acusaba
delante de nuestro Dios.
11 Nuestros hermanos lo han vencido
con la sangre derramada del Cordero
y con el mensaje que ellos proclamaron;
no tuvieron miedo de perder la vida,
sino que estuvieron dispuestos a morir.
12 ¡Alégrense, pues, cielos,
y ustedes que viven en ellos!
¡Pero ay de los que viven en la tierra y en el mar,
porque el diablo, sabiendo que le queda poco tiempo,
ha bajado contra ustedes lleno de furor!»
13 Cuando el dragón se vio lanzado a la tierra, persiguió a la mujer que había tenido el hijo. 14 Pero a la mujer se le dieron dos grandes alas de águila, para que pudiera volar a su lugar en el desierto, lejos del dragón, donde tenían que darle de comer durante tres años y medio. 15 El dragón arrojó agua por la boca, para formar un río que arrastrara a la mujer; 16 pero la tierra ayudó a la mujer, pues abrió la boca y se tragó el río que el dragón había arrojado por su boca. 17 Con eso, el dragón se puso furioso contra la mujer, y fue a pelear contra el resto de los descendientes de ella, contra los que obedecen los mandamientos de Dios y siguen fieles al testimonio de Jesús. 18 Y el dragón se plantó a la orilla del mar.

The Woman and the Dragon
12 A great sign(A) appeared in heaven:(B) a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars(C) on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in pain(D) as she was about to give birth. 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven:(E) an enormous red dragon(F) with seven heads(G) and ten horns(H) and seven crowns(I) on its heads. 4 Its tail swept a third(J) of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.(K) The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child(L) the moment he was born. 5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.”[a](M) And her child was snatched up(N) to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.(O)
7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael(P) and his angels fought against the dragon,(Q) and the dragon and his angels(R) fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent(S) called the devil,(T) or Satan,(U) who leads the whole world astray.(V) He was hurled to the earth,(W) and his angels with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven(X) say:
“Now have come the salvation(Y) and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,(Z)
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over(AA) him
by the blood of the Lamb(AB)
and by the word of their testimony;(AC)
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.(AD)
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens(AE)
and you who dwell in them!
But woe(AF) to the earth and the sea,(AG)
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.”
13 When the dragon(AH) saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.(AI) 14 The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle,(AJ) so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the wilderness, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time,(AK) out of the serpent’s reach. 15 Then from his mouth the serpent(AL) spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. 17 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war(AM) against the rest of her offspring(AN)—those who keep God’s commands(AO) and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.(AP)

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
