O sétimo selo
8 Quando o Cordeiro abriu o sétimo selo, houve silêncio no céu por mais ou menos meia hora. 2 Então vi os sete anjos, que se acham em pé diante de Deus, e vi que lhes foram dadas sete trombetas.
3 Depois veio outro anjo e ficou de pé junto ao altar. Ele estava com um incensário de ouro e foi-lhe dado muito incenso para ser oferecido com as orações de todo o povo de Deus[a] sobre o altar de ouro que se encontra diante do trono. 4 E a fumaça do incenso, juntamente com as orações do povo de Deus, subiu da mão do anjo à presença de Deus. 5 E o anjo pegou o incensário, encheu-o do fogo do altar e o atirou à terra. E houve trovões, barulhos, relâmpagos e terremoto.
As trombetas dos sete anjos
6 Então os sete anjos que tinham as trombetas prepararam-se para tocá-las. 7 O primeiro anjo tocou a sua trombeta e fogo e uma chuva de pedras misturados com sangue foram atirados à terra. Uma terça parte da terra foi queimada, assim como uma terça parte das árvores e toda erva verde.
8 O segundo anjo tocou a sua trombeta e uma coisa, que parecia uma grande montanha pegando fogo, foi atirada ao mar. Uma terça parte do mar tornou-se em sangue, 9 uma terça parte dos animais que viviam no mar morreu e uma terça parte das embarcações foi destruída.
10 O terceiro anjo tocou a sua trombeta e uma grande estrela, que estava queimando como uma tocha, caiu do céu sobre uma terça parte dos rios e sobre as fontes de água. 11 Uma terça parte das águas se tornou em absinto[b] (pois o nome da estrela era Absinto) e muitas pessoas morreram porque beberam daquela água, uma vez que ela tinha se tornado amarga.
12 O quarto anjo tocou a sua trombeta e uma terça parte do sol, da lua e das estrelas foi ferida, de modo que uma terça parte deles se tornou escura. Assim, uma terça parte do dia e da noite ficou sem luz.
13 Depois eu olhei e ouvi uma águia que voava no meio do céu e dizia em voz alta:
—Ai! Ai! Ai dos que moram na terra, por causa dos restantes sons de trombeta que os outros três anjos ainda têm que tocar!

8 Quando o Cordeiro abriu o sétimo selo, houve silêncio no céu por cerca de meia hora. 2 Vi os sete anjos que estão em pé diante de Deus, e a eles foram dadas sete trombetas.
3 Então veio outro anjo com um incensário de ouro e ficou em pé junto ao altar. Recebeu muito incenso para misturar às orações do povo santo como oferta sobre o altar de ouro diante do trono. 4 A fumaça do incenso, misturada às orações do povo santo, subiu do altar onde o anjo havia derramado o incenso até a presença de Deus. 5 Então o anjo encheu o incensário com fogo do altar e o lançou sobre a terra, e houve trovões, estrondos, relâmpagos e um grande terremoto.
As quatro primeiras trombetas
6 Em seguida, os sete anjos com as sete trombetas se prepararam para tocá-las.
7 O primeiro anjo tocou sua trombeta, e foram lançados sobre a terra granizo e fogo misturados com sangue. Um terço da terra pegou fogo, e foi queimado um terço das árvores, além de toda relva verde.
8 O segundo anjo tocou sua trombeta, e foi lançado sobre o mar algo parecido com uma grande montanha em chamas. Um terço da água do mar se transformou em sangue, 9 morreu um terço de todos os seres vivos do mar, e foi destruído um terço de todos os navios.
10 O terceiro anjo tocou sua trombeta, e caiu do céu uma grande estrela, queimando como uma tocha, sobre um terço dos rios e sobre as fontes de água. 11 O nome da estrela era Amargor,[a] pois tornou amargo um terço das águas, e muita gente morreu ao beber dessas águas amargas.
12 O quarto anjo tocou sua trombeta, e foi ferido um terço do sol, da lua e das estrelas, que escureceram. Um terço do dia ficou sem luz, e também um terço da noite.
13 Então vi e ouvi uma águia que voava no ponto mais alto do céu e gritava em alta voz: “Terror, terror, terror sobre todos os habitantes da terra, pelo que acontecerá quando os três últimos anjos tocarem suas trombetas!”.

The Seventh Seal and the Golden Censer
8 When he opened the seventh seal,(A) there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels(B) who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.(C)
3 Another angel,(D) who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people,(E) on the golden altar(F) in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God(G) from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar,(H) and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder,(I) rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.(J)
The Trumpets
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets(K) prepared to sound them.
7 The first angel(L) sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire(M) mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third(N) of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.(O)
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain,(P) all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third(Q) of the sea turned into blood,(R) 9 a third(S) of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky(T) on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water(U)— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third(V) of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.(W)
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third(X) of them turned dark.(Y) A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.(Z)
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair(AA) call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe(AB) to the inhabitants of the earth,(AC) because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”

8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
