Pecetluirea celor o sută patruzeci şi patru de mii
7 După aceea, am văzut patru îngeri care stăteau la cele patru colţuri ale pământului, ţinând cele patru vânturi ale pământului, pentru ca nici un vânt să nu mai sufle pe pământ, pe mare sau peste vreun copac. 2 Am văzut un alt înger care urca de la răsăritul soarelui şi care avea sigiliul Dumnezeului celui Viu. El a strigat cu glas puternic spre cei patru îngeri cărora le fusese dat să facă rău pământului şi mării, 3 zicând: „Nu faceţi rău nici pământului, nici mării, nici copacilor până nu vom pune sigiliul pe fruntea robilor Dumnezeului nostru!“ 4 Şi am auzit numărul celor ce fuseseră pecetluiţi: fuseseră pecetluiţi o sută patruzeci şi patru de mii din toate seminţiile fiilor lui Israel:
5 din seminţia lui Iuda au fost pecetluiţi douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Ruben – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Gad – douăsprezece mii;
6 din seminţia lui Aşer – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Neftali – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Manase – douăsprezece mii;
7 din seminţia lui Simeon – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Levi – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Isahar – douăsprezece mii;
8 din seminţia lui Zabulon – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Iosif – douăsprezece mii;
din seminţia lui Beniamin – douăsprezece mii au fost pecetluiţi.
Marea mulţime în robe albe
9 După toate acestea, m-am uitat şi iată că era o mare mulţime, pe care nimeni n-o putea număra, din toate neamurile, seminţiile, popoarele şi limbile. Stăteau înaintea tronului şi înaintea Mielului, erau îmbrăcaţi în robe albe şi aveau ramuri de palmier în mâini. 10 Ei strigau cu glas tare:
„Mântuirea este a Dumnezeului nostru,
Care şade pe tron,
şi a Mielului!“
11 Toţi îngerii stăteau de jur împrejurul tronului, al bătrânilor şi al celor patru fiinţe vii. Ei au căzut cu feţele la pământ înaintea tronului şi I s-au închinat lui Dumnezeu, 12 spunând:
„Amin! Lauda şi slava,
înţelepciunea şi mulţumirea,
onoarea, puterea şi tăria
să fie ale Dumnezeului nostru în vecii vecilor! Amin.“
13 Unul dintre bătrâni m-a întrebat:
– Cine sunt aceştia îmbrăcaţi în robe albe şi de unde au venit?
14 I-am răspuns:
– Domnule, tu ştii!
El mi-a zis:
– Aceştia sunt cei care vin din necazul cel mare;
ei şi-au spălat hainele
şi le-au albit în sângele Mielului.
15 De aceea sunt ei înaintea tronului lui Dumnezeu
şi I se închină zi şi noapte, în Templul Lui;
iar Cel Ce şade pe tron Îşi va întinde cortul peste ei.
16 Nu le va mai fi nici foame, nici sete
şi nu va mai cădea peste ei arşiţa soarelui,
nici vreo altă căldură arzătoare,
17 pentru că Mielul din mijlocul tronului îi va păstori
şi îi va conduce la izvoarele apelor vieţii,
iar Dumnezeu va şterge orice lacrimă din ochii lor.

144,000 Sealed
7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners(A) of the earth, holding back the four winds(B) of the earth to prevent(C) any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal(D) of the living God.(E) He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea:(F) 3 “Do not harm(G) the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads(H) of the servants of our God.” 4 Then I heard the number(I) of those who were sealed: 144,000(J) from all the tribes of Israel.
5 From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
6 from the tribe of Asher 12,000,
from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000,
from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
7 from the tribe of Simeon 12,000,
from the tribe of Levi 12,000,
from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
8 from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000,
from the tribe of Joseph 12,000,
from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.
The Great Multitude in White Robes
9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language,(K) standing before the throne(L) and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes(M) and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice:
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders(P) and the four living creatures.(Q) They fell down on their faces(R) before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”(S)
13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes(T)—who are they, and where did they come from?”
14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes(U) and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.(V) 15 Therefore,
“they are before the throne of God(W)
and serve him(X) day and night in his temple;(Y)
and he who sits on the throne(Z)
will shelter them with his presence.(AA)
16 ‘Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.(AB)
The sun will not beat down on them,’[a]
nor any scorching heat.(AC)
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;(AD)
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’[b](AE)
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’[c]”(AF)
